These days, mini peach blossom branches are appearing in abundance at many local markets and on streets. Affordable prices, compact designs, and abundant buds make them sell like hotcakes.

According to observations at Dich Vong market (Cau Giay district), instead of buying chrysanthemums, roses, or other traditional flowers, many families are choosing small peach blossom branches to place on their altars.

Each branch costs between 50,000 and 150,000 VND, depending on its shape and the abundance of flowers and buds. The reasonable price and the festive atmosphere of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) have quickly made mini peach blossom branches a sought-after item.

Ms. Trang, a peach blossom vendor in the Cau Giay area, said that the number of customers buying mini peach blossom branches has increased dramatically in the past 5 days. "Every day I sell hundreds of branches; they're all gone within a few hours of being brought to the market, and I have to go back to the garden to get more," Ms. Trang shared.

According to Ms. Trang, small peach blossom branches priced under 200,000 VND sell very quickly, while larger, more elaborate branches costing from several hundred thousand to over one million VND are less popular. "Large, expensive branches are harder to sell. Buyers mainly choose smaller branches that fit their budget and are easy to display on the altar," she shared.

A small vendor at Dich Vong market said that this year, customers hardly haggle over the price of mini peach blossom branches. "The smaller the branch, the easier it is to sell. As soon as I quote the price, customers buy it immediately because this year's branches have many buds and sprouts, and the price is affordable," he said.

Explaining the appeal of mini peach blossoms, a small business owner attributed it primarily to economic factors and weather conditions. "Due to economic difficulties, people prefer mini peach blossoms. This year's warm weather caused the flowers to bloom early, so gardeners are not selling whole trees but rather cutting branches to sell individually, making the price cheaper," the business owner explained.

According to vendors selling peach blossom branches, the branches are sourced from gardens in Nhật Tân.

Ms. Huong (Nghia Do ward) shared that every year she buys small peach blossom branches to place on the altar starting from the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month. "A branch costs about 80,000 VND and can be used from the day of bidding farewell to the Kitchen God until almost Tet, and it's neat and economical," she said.
