Nickname is an intimate name between two people, based on the other person's outstanding identifying features to name.
Nicknames are used to replace long account numbers with shorter names. In particular, bank account nicknames can transfer and receive money and perform other transactions like regular numbered accounts.
Another advantage of bank account nickname is that it is easy to remember and easy to transfer money. Nickname can only be set once with an account number. That means the nickname will be unique to one person and will not be duplicated.

Customers only need to remember the nickname of the transferee to be able to make a quick transaction, without having to fill in long strings of numbers.
In addition, customers can freely create nicknames to express their own personality or suit their business establishments.
Setting a bank account nickname also shows the intimacy and personality of that person.
How to set a bank account nickname
Some banks allow users to register nicknames directly on the banking application. To use this service, customers need to ensure the following requirements:
- Customers must be 15 years of age or older to register.
- Have a bank account and pay in local currency - Vietnamese Dong
- Register and use banking application
Steps to set bank account nickname
Users update the VCB Digibank application to the latest version on the application markets then log in to their account.
Next, select "Set account nickname" on the main screen or go to the Utilities menu (at the bottom) >> Settings >> Set account nickname.
Next, choose an account nickname according to your preference.
Finally enter the verification code and complete the transaction.
TPBank
First, users download the TPBank application. In the application interface, click on settings. Then select the Nickname/Shopname account settings item and follow the instructions.
Note when setting account nickname
Account nicknames will be limited to 3 to 20 characters including letters from A to Z and numbers from 0 to 9. Nicknames are not case sensitive.
Special characters are not allowed when setting nicknames.
The first character will start with letters. It is not allowed to use sensitive, vulgar words, words that offend the honor of others, do not use language that affects public morality and registered trade names of the Intellectual Property Law.
Each nickname can only be used for one customer. Therefore, if there is a duplicate, please change it according to the suggestions.
