Youth project "National Flag Road" inaugurated.

Taking initiative and volunteering for the community.

One of the hallmarks of Phu Vang's youth is their proactive participation in volunteer activities to build new rural areas. According to Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Thao, Secretary of the Phu Vang District Youth Union, youth union members in the district actively responded to and effectively implemented the "Phu Vang Youth Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" movement launched by the District Youth Union. In particular, youth projects and activities such as building infrastructure and landscapes in new rural areas; maintaining order; building cultural life; and protecting the environment have been actively supported. Youth Union and Youth Association organizations from the district to the grassroots level have carried out 400 youth projects and 33 practical initiatives, attracting the participation of over 2,000 youth union members.

These are facilities and recreational areas in several residential areas and many schools in the region, creating opportunities for young people to have more healthy playgrounds, and for people to engage in physical activities and sports to improve their health; contributing to the schools' progress in building and achieving national standard school status.

Joy and pride filled the hearts of the young people as, in March – Youth Month – the Phu Vang District Youth Union, in coordination with other units, inaugurated a "Red Scarf House" for Tran Van Lap, a 3rd grade student at Phu Da 2 Primary School in Phu Da town, with a total support fund of 80 million VND; inaugurated a "Great Solidarity" house for Ms. Nguyen Thi Gai (Van Giang village, Phu Luong commune), worth over 160 million VND; and commenced construction of a "House of Compassion" for the family of Ms. Do Thi Hanh, a poor household with particularly difficult circumstances in Hoa Tay residential area, Phu Da town, worth 160 million VND.

The youth project "Light of Gratitude" at the district's martyrs' cemetery, consisting of a system of 10 solar-powered lights worth 15 million VND, and the bridge project in Hamlet 16, Dinh Cu village, Phu An commune, with a total value of over 130 million VND, were also inaugurated by the Phu Vang District Youth Union in coordination with various organizations and units during the meaningful month of March.

According to Mr. Ho The Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Phu Vang District Party Committee, the youth of Phu Vang have effectively demonstrated their pioneering spirit in all activities, especially volunteer work for the community. Every year, the Phu Vang District Youth Union joins hands with the District Steering Committee for Poverty Reduction to help poor households escape poverty. In particular, the Youth Union members are the core force helping to repair hundreds of houses; they also install electricity and water systems, and donate essential items, enabling households to quickly stabilize their lives, feel secure in their work, and strive for economic development.

Fostering a spirit of creativity

According to Mai Thi Thanh Thao, Secretary of the Phu Vang District Youth Union, the youth innovation movement in the area is increasingly becoming more practical, promoting creativity with many specific activities and creating an environment for young people in the area to develop their strengths and thinking.

Youth Union members in agencies across the district have proactively applied science and technology, especially information technology, in their professional work; they have proactively advised agencies and units on establishing and managing websites for convenient transactions and to enhance management; and they have implemented many "Saturday Volunteer Day, resolving administrative procedures for the people" activities, bringing satisfaction to the people.

Youth union members in schools actively participate in creative entrepreneurship programs and competitions such as: Youth and Children's Innovation; Science and Technology Innovation; and Young Informatics Competitions citywide, winning many high-level awards at the city and national levels.

Rural youth have shown significant changes in awareness, boldly investing in and applying information technology, science and technology, and modern equipment to labor and production to improve productivity, as well as boldly building effective production and business models. Typical examples include: the Dafusa Cooperative of young Vo Van To (Phu Da town); fish sauce production by young Tran Quoc Tin (Phu Thuan commune); advertising printing by Mr. Mai Ba Hoang (Phu Da town); using winding machines in processing agricultural by-products by young Tong Quoc Huy (Phu Luong commune); pig farming and providing animal feed for poultry and livestock by young Nguyen Thanh Tuong (Vinh Thanh commune); and intensive super-meat duck farming by young Le Quang Diep (Phu Ho commune)...

The Standing Committee of the Phu Vang District Youth Union has been and continues to support young people, providing them with a "foundation" to foster their creativity; enabling the aforementioned exemplary individuals in particular, and the youth of Phu Vang in general, to continue making important contributions to the process of building new rural areas and developing their homeland.
