According to the Director of the Department of Construction, Nguyen Ha Nam , in order to accelerate the implementation of projects to renovate and upgrade urban roads and sidewalks in the area to celebrate major holidays in 2025, the department has worked with the People's Committees of Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le, and Lien Chieu districts; the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Transportation and Agricultural Works; the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works; and the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects.

This allows us to understand the progress of projects to renovate and upgrade urban roads and sidewalks in the city, with various agencies and units acting as investors.

"Based on reports and recommendations from relevant agencies and units, the Department of Construction has directed the resolution of several obstacles related to licensing for vehicles transporting construction materials, managing recovered assets, designing curb shapes for sidewalks, and agreeing on the commencement and completion dates for several ongoing urban road and sidewalk renovation and upgrading projects, minimizing the time for investment preparation and construction," Mr. Nam emphasized.

Currently, there are 4 projects under construction and expected to be completed in 2025. Regarding the project to renovate the drainage system and underground the information cables and street lighting on Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To streets, approximately 90% of the work has been completed. Specifically, on Hung Vuong street, the section from Bach Dang to Ngo Gia Tu has been completed; the section from Ngo Gia Tu to Ham Nghi is under construction. On Ly Thai To street, from the intersection with Hung Vuong and Ham Nghi streets to the intersection with Le Duan street, the first layer of asphalt has been completed, and finishing work is ongoing.

According to Nguyen Duc Nam, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, in order to facilitate travel and business for people along Hung Vuong and Ly Thai To streets, and especially to serve tourists visiting Da Nang for sightseeing and shopping during the upcoming peak summer tourist season, the board has directed contractors to continue accelerating construction progress, striving to complete the project in May 2025, 3 months ahead of schedule.

The project to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads in Son Tra district, with a total investment of nearly 79 billion VND, commenced in December 2024 and is expected to be completed in October 2025. Accordingly, seven roads will be renovated and repaired: Ho Nghinh (from Pham Van Dong to Vuong Thua Vu), Nguyen Sang, Dinh Cong Tru, Le Tan Trung, Tran Nhan Tong, Nguyen Thi Dinh, and Tran Thanh Tong. Construction is being accelerated.

The project to renovate and upgrade inner-city roads in Hai Chau and Lien Chieu districts is also being urgently expedited by the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects Management Board (the project's investor), with efforts to address difficulties and obstacles to minimize project completion time and bring the works into operation as soon as possible.

At the project to renovate the drainage system and underground telecommunications and street lighting cables on four inner-city streets: Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu, and Ong Ich Khiem (Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts), contractors and construction units have mobilized dozens of machines and equipment, along with engineers and workers, to work diligently. Despite the hot weather, the workers remain committed to the construction site with the goal of completing the project as quickly as possible.

According to the Da Nang City People's Committee, this project aims to enhance urban aesthetics, ensure drainage capacity, meet the needs of tourism and economic development, and improve the quality of transportation infrastructure in the central area of Da Nang.

The project scope includes: renovating the drainage system, burying power lines, communication cables and streetlights underground, replacing and planting more trees, relocating the water supply system, installing additional fire hydrants, curbing and re-paving sidewalks with natural granite, and upgrading the asphalt concrete surface on these four roads with a total length of 6.94km. The project has a total investment of over 280 billion VND and is expected to be completed in 2026...

According to Nguyen Ha Nam, Director of the Department of Construction, the department has agreed on the commencement and completion schedules for several projects to renovate and upgrade urban roads and sidewalks. The department has also assigned the investors the responsibility of developing detailed implementation plans for each project and submitting them to the department for monitoring and supervision. If any problems arise during implementation, the units should promptly report them to the Department of Construction for inspection and resolution within its authority.

It is known that currently, in addition to the 4 projects under construction, the city also has 7 projects with approved investment, such as the renovation and upgrading of inner-city roads in Ngu Hanh Son district; the renovation and repair of roads in resettlement areas in Lien Chieu district (phase 2); inner-city roads in Cam Le district (phase 2); the Nam Cao to Pham Nhu Xuong road… and 7 projects with approved investment policies such as the expansion of Au Co road; the upgrading and expansion of Binh Ky road…

In addition, the city is also planning to invest in six road projects, most notably the project to improve the green landscape on Tran Phu, Bach Dang and other main roads; and investing in the landscape on both banks of the Han River on the east bank…
