'The Adventures of a Cricket' is different

"De Men: Adventure to the Swamp" is inspired by the classic work "The Adventures of Men" by writer To Hoai but has action scenes reminiscent of Marvel style.

3D animation Cricket: Adventure to the Swamp - inspired by classics The Adventures of Cricket by writer To Hoai - has just released its first teaser. The film recreates familiar characters in the work while opening up a new space, imbued with Vietnamese culture.

According to the teaser, the Cricket brothers are led by Dragonfly to a strange insect city ruled by the great Frog King. Initially, Xom Lay Loi appears lively and friendly, but dark plots gradually emerge, leading to a series of dramatic events.

The insect city is built from familiar items such as recycled waste, marbles, magnifying glasses, knives and forks... In which, the Frog King's knife and fork throne is inspired by the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones, Combining superhero-style action scenes, reminiscent of Marvel imagery.

Amidst concerns and doubts when the producer was inspired by a classic literary work but in the Marvel style, producer Vu Duy Nam responded: "Animated films are not just for children. We want to create a work that can touch the emotions of audiences of all ages. Those who have loved The Adventures of Cricket will find familiar characters, but in completely new forms and perspectives".

In addition to familiar characters such as De Men, De Trui, Tong Coc, the film also introduces new characters such as Rau Que, Gian Dep, Ladybug Baby... The film aims to convey a message about friendship, courage and environmental protection.

Currently, the battle between two animated films based on folklore is Cricket: Adventure to the Swamp with Little Trang Quynh: The Legend of the Taurus are getting a lot of attention as both are expected to be released in theaters at the end of May.
