Driven by a love for music , a desire to spread the core cultural values of the nation, and respect for artists, ART & CULTURE is organizing the music night "Duy Thai and the Words of the Wind". The program is supported by the Thanh Dong Babeeni Art Center and Mary Le High-End Jewelry Co., Ltd., ensuring the music night is offered free of charge to music lovers in Hai Phong.
According to the organizers, this is also a tribute to the artists who have silently preserved and nurtured Vietnamese cultural values throughout the years. At the same time, the program contributes to spreading the spirit of corporate culture and working together to preserve and enhance the spiritual life of the community.
Inspired by that spirit, the concert featured 17 representative songs composed throughout the artistic journey of the musician from Hai Phong. These melodies praised the Vietnamese homeland, his hometown of Hai Phong , and the beauty of life and love—works that have left their mark and established his name in Vietnamese music.
His unwavering dedication led composer Duy Thai to a great honor in his career when he was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts by the Party and the State. Through his music, the image of Hai Phong emerges as both dynamic, modern, integrated, and developing; and romantic, rich in poetic qualities, a city of "Convergence and Radiance," striving for prosperity, well-being, and happiness.
The concert also represents the pride of the people of Hai Phong in their expansive coastal land, rich in cultural traditions and a birthplace and gathering place for many talents in various fields, especially literature and art. For generations, many renowned artists have been born, grown up, and contributed to beautifying this land through their enduring contributions.
In this new era of development, Hai Phong is increasingly asserting its position as a dynamic and modern city. In particular, with the city's implementation of the project to build Hai Phong into a "City of Music," the love of music in the hearts of the people of Hai Phong has been strongly rekindled.
Many beautiful songs about Hai Phong, about the homeland, about its people and life have been continuously created, contributing to affirming the talent and dignity of Hai Phong's artists. And musician Duy Thai is one of the representative figures of that artistic movement.
The art concert "Duy Thai and the Words of the Wind" was produced under the content direction of musician Duy Thai, with the script and overall direction handled by writer Truong Thi Thuong Huyen. The program also featured creative collaboration from designer Mary Hien Duong in costume design, and choreography by artist Hong Nhung.
The program will take the audience back to the songs that have made a mark and established the name of composer Duy Thai in his persistent songwriting journey from 1986 to the present. These are melodies rich in lyricism, imbued with the breath of homeland, love, and life, such as: "Words of the Wind," "Finding Your Name on the Sand," "Empty Street," "Waiting Shore," "Charming Vietnam," "Returning to the Sea," "The Skinny Sparrow," "Village Gate," "I Love the People of Hai Phong," "Hai Phong in My Heart"... Each song contributes to portraying the unique musical portrait of this passionate and deeply devoted composer from the port city.
The concert will feature performances by renowned artists such as People's Artist Quang Thọ, Quang Vinh, Dương Minh Đức, Khánh Hòa , Phương Anh, Đức Hoài, Bích Liên, Đào Nguyên Vũ, Ngọc Bích, Hương Ly, Thanh Vân, Thanh Vinh… along with dancers and actors from the Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theatre and the Military Region 3 Performing Arts Troupe, promising an emotionally rich and distinctly Hai Phong-themed evening of art.
The concert "Duy Thai and the Words of the Wind" will take place at 8 PM on May 17th at the Hai Phong City Theater (28 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hong Bang District, Hai Phong City).
