The event was held on the occasion of the 133rd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), towards the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Ninh province (October 30, 1963 - October 30, 2023), and at the same time aimed at stimulating, restoring and developing the tourism industry in Mong Cai in particular and Quang Ninh province in general.
Within the framework of the 2023 Border Sim Flower Festival, there will be sports exchange programs and attractive folk games.
According to the General Department of Tourism, the 2023 Border Sim Flower Festival will take place at a number of tourist attractions in Hai Son commune, including: Hai Son Commune Cultural - Sports Center, Po Hen National Historical Site; Landmark 1347; Dang Family Hamlet, Po Hen Village; 26 Ho Area, Than Phun Xa Village, Sim Hill, Suoi Waterfall...
Within the framework of the festival, there will be many attractive activities such as: Opening ceremony; "Po Hen Market" introducing local products and cuisine ; Organizing sports exchanges and folk games (stick pushing, tug of war, throwing balls, swinging, climbing monkey bridges, spinning tops, blindfolded duck catching, climbing banana trees)... Besides, there are also experiential activities, visiting Hai Son community tourism and organizing singing festivals in Hai Son Commune Residential Area, art programs, campfires; Co song singing (San Chi ethnic group); love songs of Dao ethnic group...
It is expected that the "Border Sim Flower Festival 2023" will welcome and serve about 10,000 visitors. This is an important event of Mong Cai City associated with community tourism development activities to continue to concretize and implement programs and plans on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; developing Tra Co National Tourism Area, Mong Cai City as well as effectively implementing the city's tourism development project until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
