The event was organized to commemorate the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), in anticipation of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Quang Ninh province (October 30, 1963 - October 30, 2023), and to stimulate, revive, and develop the tourism industry in Mong Cai in particular and Quang Ninh province in general.
The 2023 Border Sim Flower Festival will include sports exchanges and attractive folk games.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the 2023 Border Sim Flower Festival will take place at several tourist destinations in Hai Son commune, including: Hai Son Commune Cultural and Sports Center, Po Hen National Historical Relic Site; Border Marker 1347; Ho Dang hamlet, Po Hen village; 26-Household area, Than Phun Xa village, sim flower hill, Suoi waterfall...
The festival will include many attractive activities such as: the opening ceremony; the "Pò Hèn Market" showcasing local products and unique cuisine ; sports exchanges and folk games (stick pushing, tug-of-war, throwing the ball, swinging, climbing a monkey bridge, spinning tops, blindfolded duck catching, banana tree climbing)... In addition, there will be experiential activities, community tourism tours in Hai Son, and a singing festival for the Hai Son residential area, art programs, bonfires; Soóng Cọ singing (San Chi ethnic group); and courtship singing of the Dao ethnic group...
The "Borderland Sim Flower Festival 2023" is expected to welcome and serve approximately 10,000 visitors. This is an important event for Mong Cai City, linked to community tourism development activities, aiming to further concretize and implement programs and plans for tourism development as a key economic sector; develop the Tra Co National Tourist Area in Mong Cai City; and effectively implement the city's tourism development plan until 2025, with a vision to 2030.
