From January 13th to 17th, 2026 (the year of the Horse), the Tran Temple Festival in Hung Yen province will take place. This is not only a unique cultural and spiritual event but also a focal point of historical memory, embodying the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source," fostering pride in a dynasty that once brought glory to the nation. In the majestic and solemn atmosphere of the birthplace, the heroic spirit of the Dong A dynasty still resonates, strengthening the will and faith of today's generations.

Long Hung is considered the birthplace and foundation for the formation and growth of the Tran Dynasty over 800 years ago. From the beginning of the 13th century, this land was chosen by the Tran Dynasty as the place to establish their power, build their empire, and consolidate the foundations of a glorious dynasty. Not only did it preserve the auspicious energy lines that contributed to the dynasty's prosperity, but Long Hung also served as a strategically important base for training troops, accumulating provisions, and manufacturing weapons, playing a crucial role in the defense of the country. It is also the resting place of the Tran Dynasty's ancestors, including Emperor Tran Thua and the three first kings. Building upon this historical foundation, the Tran Temple was constructed majestically and grandly, with structures such as the rear palace, the main hall, the left and right wings, the ceremonial gate, the incense burning platform, along with the three tombs of the Tran kings and many related architectural works. Continuing this historical legacy, in 2014, the mausoleum and temple complex of the Tran Dynasty kings was classified as a special national historical site. On January 27, 2014, the Tran Temple Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage. This title not only affirms the immense historical significance of the site but also emphasizes the role of Long Hung in the flow of national culture, where the sacred spirit of the Tran Dynasty continues to shine brightly through time. Distinguished artisan Vu Xuan Thang, a member of the Management Board of the National Special Monument Complex of the tombs and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings, shared: "We always focus on preserving and maintaining the ancient rituals as a way of showing gratitude to our ancestors and preserving the soul of the nation. This year, in addition to the solemn ceremony commemorating the ancestors, the Tran Temple Festival continues to organize folk competitions such as: making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), cooking rice by blowing fire, wrestling, firecrackers, and fish dishes... These activities not only recreate traditional cultural life but also remind us of the martial spirit, perseverance, and community cohesion." Each ritual and folk game preserved today is a way for the heroic spirit of our ancestors to continue to spread in contemporary life, so that this land of outstanding people and rich history will forever shine brightly in the nation's history.
These days, the people of Long Hung commune are even more excited and proud as the 2026 Tran Temple Festival in Hung Yen province continues to be organized on a provincial scale. Smiles radiate from the faces of the people, and they enthusiastically participate in the festival activities. Ms. Tran Thi May, from Nhat Tao village, shared: "Rarely does a festival bring together such a rich variety of folk games and spring festivities as the Tran Temple Festival. I feel very happy and proud to participate in the folk games at the festival. This is an opportunity to educate about patriotic traditions, 'drinking water, remembering the source,' so that each person always cherishes the past and is grateful to the generations before us."
Building upon the traditions of the birthplace of the Tran Dynasty, today's young generation continues to strive for excellence in their studies and training to live up to the legacy of the Tran family. According to Mr. Tran Van Hai from Tay Nha village: "I am very proud to be a son of Long Hung, and that's why I chose calligraphy to commemorate the great contributions of the Tran kings. Through this, I can immerse myself in the refined values left behind by our ancestors. As a young person, I will strive to improve myself, emulate the example of our predecessors, and continue to contribute my efforts and intellect to building a more prosperous and beautiful homeland."
With its unique and sacred character, the Tran Temple Festival has transcended regional boundaries, becoming a source of pride for the people. Comrade Pham Thanh Tam, Chairman of the Long Hung Commune People's Committee, affirmed: "The Tran Temple in Long Hung Commune is a sacred symbol in the land where the Tran Dynasty originated. Therefore, we always consider the preservation and promotion of the relic's value as a key task, implementing it seriously and in accordance with regulations, ensuring the festival takes place solemnly, safely, and in a civilized manner. In the future, we will continue to coordinate efforts to improve infrastructure, synchronize the landscape, and enhance the value of the relic so that the Tran Temple can increasingly develop its position as a typical spiritual destination, contributing to fostering pride and promoting the sustainable development of our homeland."
On this land steeped in history, the Tran Temple stands solemnly and majestically in the early morning mist. Its moss-covered curved roof reflects the passage of time, as if guarding a sacred memory of the nation. Here, history is present in every stone step, every stick of incense, every resounding drumbeat preparing for the festival season. And within that mystical depth, the sacred spirit of the Tran dynasty continues to shine silently, enduring, majestic, and immortal, forever with the nation.
