57 free truck trips transported over 325 tons of goods.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper, on September 11th, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang sent a letter calling on officials, employees, and workers throughout the industry to uphold the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, joining hands with the people nationwide to support those affected by Typhoon No. 3.
Responding to the Minister's call, the Transport Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association are coordinating to organize a free transportation service for relief goods to people affected by storms and floods.

Given the urgent situation of our compatriots, relief efforts needed to be carried out quickly. Many individuals and organizations launched fundraising campaigns for goods and cash, but lacked transportation options. To provide the fastest and most effective assistance, the program organizers connected with transportation companies and received a more enthusiastic response than expected.
On September 12th, the editorial board of Giao Thong Newspaper and the leaders of the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association signed a letter calling on businesses, organizations, and individuals to participate in providing free transportation of relief goods and to support donations to help people in flood-affected areas.
Regarding transportation, the Organizing Committee established a Vehicle and Goods Coordination Committee comprising representatives from the Traffic Newspaper, the Automobile Transport Association, the Hanoi Taxi Association, and representatives from transport companies whose vehicles are participating in the program.
Despite roads being cut off and many landslides occurring, and undeterred by the dangers, the free delivery vehicles of the participating transport companies worked day and night to deliver goods to the centers of districts and communes in the areas affected by Typhoon No. 3.
In particular, businesses participating in the program mobilized oversized and overweight vehicles to transport international relief supplies from Noi Bai Airport to northern provinces.

In the 15 days since the establishment of the relief effort, the hotline for receiving information about the relief effort has been constantly operational. The program coordination team received hundreds of calls requesting free transportation for relief supplies. The arrangement of receiving goods, dispatching vehicles, and delivering them at the destination was extremely complex but was implemented scientifically and efficiently. All shipments arrived and returned safely.
As a result, with a spirit of dedication to the community, 12 participating transport companies successfully completed 57 free trips, delivering 325.5 tons of goods to people affected by Typhoon No. 3 in 9 provinces and cities: Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Bac Can, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, and Chuong My (Hanoi).
These include shipments connecting the South and the Mekong Delta, traveling thousands of kilometers to the mountainous provinces of the North. This includes relief supplies from various units within the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Fatherland Front, the Central Youth Union, the Women's Union, and media agencies, delivered from numerous locations to people facing difficulties.

The first-ever free relief supply transport bridge has received widespread public appreciation, with over 30 newspapers reporting on the initiative and hundreds of calls and messages expressing gratitude for the program's assistance.
Besides establishing free transportation routes for relief supplies, the Traffic Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association directly mobilized, collected donations, and organized charitable missions to promptly deliver gifts, contribute money for house construction, and rebuild schools for people in Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, and Chuong My (Hanoi). The value of gifts and cash donations sent by readers and benefactors through the Traffic Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association alone reached 2 billion VND.
In the program's activities, the Traffic Newspaper, the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association, Delta International Joint Stock Company, Alphat Vietnam Co., Ltd., Minh Thanh Phat Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Sao Viet Bus Company), and XE Vietnam Co., Ltd. were among the units that achieved outstanding results in organizing and participating in fundraising and support for people affected by Typhoon No. 3 and floods, creating a strong ripple effect in the community and society.

Regarding the Transport Newspaper, during the period of storms and floods, when travel conditions were extremely dangerous, the editorial board developed an operational plan and implemented it in each specialized department to ensure quick and timely reporting, guaranteeing operational safety and minimizing risks for reporters on the scene. The news production line operated 24/7, with the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and editorial secretaries, along with the Head of the Current Affairs Department, the Residents' Department, the Transport Department, and reporters at hotspots, working tirelessly to update the storm and flood situation day and night.

In addition to reporting according to schedule and providing information on road conditions and damage caused by storms and floods, reporters and editors of the newspaper are also responsible for connecting the transportation and relief program. This ensures that relief supplies reach where they are needed and builds trust among donors and readers in the effectiveness of the program.
The spirit of dedicated work, selflessness, disregard for danger, and creativity in relief efforts, the establishment of a goods receiving coordination center, and the organization of free transport of relief goods are the factors that have helped the first-ever free relief goods transport bridge program gain widespread recognition and deliver practical results.
Approaching the people with a kind heart.
Sharing behind-the-scenes details of the program's organization, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga said that, with the desire to provide the fastest possible support to the people while also promoting the role of the transportation sector, the Transport Newspaper coordinated with the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association to establish a free transportation bridge, bringing relief goods from individuals and organizations to the people.

This was the first time this program had been implemented, and it was also hampered by a shortage of coordinating personnel in Hanoi as well as in the affected and damaged localities. Reporters from the Transport Newspaper had to focus on reporting on the storms, floods, damage, and rescue efforts, while simultaneously connecting with relevant parties to ensure the supplies reached the people. Therefore, the first day or two inevitably presented some challenges and difficulties in coordinating vehicles and supplies.
But all obstacles were overcome because the program quickly received strong support from transportation companies, businesses, and individuals who donated goods and even cash…

"This transportation bridge would not have been able to operate overnight, braving storms and floods, or deliver hundreds of tons of goods to people in flood-affected areas without the joint efforts of businesses, organizations, and individuals. And it would also have been impossible without the trust of readers and other individuals and businesses who donated cash and goods worth nearly 2 billion VND."
Thanks to this, some schools are being renovated, some houses are being built, many families have extra blankets and new clothes, and solar-powered lights…
"When we give with all our hearts, we will no longer judge the material value of the support gifts," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga shared, expressing her gratitude for the precious kindness and active participation of businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Representing the transportation companies participating in the transportation bridge, Mr. Tran Duc Nghia, General Director of Delta International Joint Stock Company, further shared that as soon as they received the open letter about the program, their company participated immediately without hesitation. During peak periods, they sent 7 vehicles, and during off-peak periods, they sent 5 vehicles, all of which were vehicles with the best technical standards.
But when the trucks reached the northern provinces, anxieties inevitably arose. These were unfamiliar routes for the drivers, and with the rainy and flood-prone weather and poor road conditions, risks were inevitable.
"We are fortunate to have a very active group of drivers who are always ready to participate in transporting aid and are enthusiastic about charitable work. All the trips arrive safely, and relief supplies reach the people in a timely manner. Thank you to the transport team for allowing us to participate in this meaningful charitable program," said Mr. Tran Duc Nghia.
Reportedly, Delta International Joint Stock Company has made 24 truck trips, with a total transport weight of 130.5 tons, including 8 trips to Lao Cai, 7 trips to Cao Bang, and several other provinces such as Yen Bai, Phu Tho, and Bac Giang.
Mr. Le Bao Anh, General Director of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1), thanked the program for connecting the unit to provide support to the people quickly and practically (Photo: Ta Hai).
Mr. Le Bao Anh, General Director of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1), said that the company had launched a campaign for employees to donate one day's salary, along with the company's own funds. However, wanting the donated money to support people affected by Typhoon No. 3 in the most practical way, the corporation contacted Giao Thong Newspaper. Through Giao Thong Newspaper's connection, the company went directly to support people in Cao Bang province, donating cash and assisting with house construction... with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND.
"As a manufacturing and business enterprise, we recognize that social responsibility is also an important task. Thank you to Giao Thong Newspaper and the program for supporting us in carrying out this meaningful activity," said Mr. Le Bao Anh.
Acknowledging and appreciating the program, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy commended the Transport Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association for establishing a meaningful and practical transportation bridge. He also praised the transport businesses for their cooperation and joint efforts, upholding the nation's fine tradition of "mutual support." Through this, essential relief supplies were transported as quickly as possible to those most in need.
"These journeys into the storm-affected areas are fraught with risks, but the units still enthusiastically participate. This participation is done with sincerity and dedication, and that's what's most important. It's not about advertising for the Transport Newspaper, the Association, or the businesses themselves, so these acts of kindness are all the more meaningful," Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the transport sector has many pillars, including two fundamental ones: infrastructure and transport. Developing transport infrastructure serves transport; the development of transport will reduce costs for goods and for the economy. The Deputy Minister hoped that transport associations and businesses would contribute ideas to make the state management of transport more effective.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13th), the Deputy Minister wished transportation and logistics businesses sustainable development and contributions to the development of Vietnam's transportation sector.
Recognizing the efforts and positive contributions to the community of the units and individuals participating in the program, the Minister of Transport awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 units: Giao Thong Newspaper, Vietnam Automobile Transport Association, Delta International Joint Stock Company, Alphat Vietnam Co., Ltd., Minh Thanh Phat Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Sao Viet Bus Company), and XE Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Giao Thong Newspaper and Vietnam Automobile Transport Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 21 collectives and individuals.
