On the morning of November 17th, a landslide occurred on the Prenn Pass (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong ), near Datanla Waterfall, extending for more than 10 meters. A large section of the road and guardrail slid down into the ravine, leaving long cracks in the asphalt surface.
Speaking to Tri Thức - Znews , the leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong ward, Da Lat, said that the local authorities and relevant agencies immediately closed the pass, stopping traffic in both directions to ensure safety and to reroute and guide residents and tourists traveling up and down Da Lat via Mimosa Pass.
Previously, heavy rains lasting from November 16th until now caused the landslide, as the soil in the area was already saturated with water and therefore soft. Fortunately, the landslide did not cause any casualties.
Immediately after the incident, Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, along with relevant units, went to the scene to survey the situation and develop a plan for remediation.

Additionally, traffic is temporarily suspended on the Khánh Lê and Sông Pha passes (connecting Lâm Đồng and Khánh Hòa provinces) from Lâm Đồng due to the high risk of further landslides. The D'ran pass (formerly connecting Lâm Đồng and Ninh Thuận ) and Gia Bắc pass (formerly Di Linh district), which experienced landslides after heavy rains in late October, will be excavated, slopes leveled, and reinforced with gabions, with construction expected to take 45 days.
Prenn Pass is 7.27 km long and is part of National Highway 20. It's a vital route connecting Da Lat with Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the southern region. In February 2023, the road through the pass received an investment of 552 billion VND to double its width to four lanes, with a design speed of 60 km/h.
