Tonight (August 21), at 8:00 p.m., the rehearsal for the military parade and march in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, will take place at Ba Dinh Square ( Hanoi ).

Although this is just a "trial run", the scale will be equivalent to the official ceremony with the participation of all forces including: 4 ceremonial blocks, 43 blocks representing the People's Armed Forces (26 army blocks and 17 police blocks), and foreign military blocks (Russian, Lao and Cambodian military blocks have arrived in Hanoi).

In the bustling atmosphere of patriotism and national pride, people from all over are flocking to the central area of the capital to watch the parade and marching rehearsals. So if you plan to “go to town,” people need to prepare carefully.

Where to go, which location is nice?

People should calculate the routes in advance when going from home to conveniently move to the central area.

Accordingly, if choosing to travel by personal vehicle, people can park their vehicles at Vincom Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lotte building, Diplomatic Corps apartment building, Thu Le Park, Thanh Cong Park, Le Hong Phong Cadre Training School (arranged by Hanoi People's Committee to serve people attending the Anniversary Ceremony)...

To avoid traffic jams and overloads, you should use public transport such as buses and metro. Currently, Hanoi Metro is operating two lines: Cat Linh-Ha Dong and Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station.

With the Cat Linh-Ha Dong line: the starting point is Yen Nghia station, which will be convenient for people in the old districts of Chuong My, My Duc, Quoc Oai and the old Ha Dong district, Thanh Xuan. The end point of this line stops at Cat Linh station, very close to Nguyen Thai Hoc and Kim Ma streets, which are the main axis of the parade. People can stop here and walk a few hundred meters.

With the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station route (operating to Thu Le Park): suitable for people in the old districts of Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, Hoai Duc and the old districts of Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem. The advantage of this route is that the Nhon station area has a large parking lot, people can park their personal vehicles here. The end point of the route stops at Thu Le Park, right at the beginning of Kim Ma Street, very close to the parade area.

On August 21, 24, 27 and 29, 2025, trains will depart from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., an additional 2 hours compared to the regular schedule. The frequency of operation will be maintained at 6-10 minutes/trip, except for the extended time frame, a 10-minute interval will be applied.

By August 30, 2025, the train will operate from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a frequency of 6 minutes/trip during the morning rush hour from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and 10 minutes/trip for the rest of the day.

On September 1, 2025, the entire system will operate from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, with a stable frequency of 10 minutes/trip throughout. In particular, on National Day, September 2, the train will operate continuously from 0:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

In addition to the tram, many bus routes heading towards the city center also have routes passing through or stopping near the streets of Nguyen Thai Hoc-Kim Ma-Tran Phu-Hoang Dieu, where the parade took place: 09A (Bo Ho- Dien Bien Phu-Kim Ma-Cau Giay-Nguyen Hoang Ton) ; 22A (Gia Lam Bus Station-Long Bien-Tran Phu-Kim Ma); E09 (Smart City Urban Area-Thang Long Boulevard-Nguyen Thai Hoc-Hoang Dieu-Quan Thanh-West Lake); 32 (Giap Bat Bus Station-Le Duan-Tran Hung Dao-Kim Ma-Xuan Thuy-Nhon); BRT (Yen Nghia Bus Station-Le Trong Tan-Le Van Luong-Giang Vo-Kim Ma).

To watch the parades, good spots on the sidewalk are very limited. Therefore, to have a good view, people should come 5-6 hours early, or even earlier than the starting time to choose a place to stand. Some locations with good views are: Hung Vuong-Nguyen Thai Hoc-Hang Chao intersection; Le Duan-Nguyen Thai Hoc intersection; Cua Nam 6-way intersection; Hang Khay-Trang Tien intersection; Hoan Kiem Lake; Quan Ngua Stadium.

Notably, many hotels in the city center have displayed a “no room available” status from August 30 to September 3.

These days, the entire city has recorded an increase in demand for accommodation at hotels located along the parade routes such as the areas around Ba Dinh Square, Trang Thi, Trang Tien, Le Duan, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Cat Linh, Kim Ma, Giang Vo, Lieu Giai, Van Cao Street, etc.

In particular, hotels with balconies or windows overlooking the parade area are now fully booked. Therefore, to secure a place to stay for the upcoming holiday, most guests have to make a deposit many months in advance.

Hanoi on September 2nd this year is truly special. Tourists not only enjoy the cool autumn weather but also immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the 80th National Day celebration, immerse themselves in the streets filled with red flags, the jubilant celebrations and the pride in their hearts./.
