Di Linh 50 years in review

Going back in history to the time before April 30, 1975, under the leadership of the Party, the people of all ethnic groups in Di Linh district continued to promote the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary spirit from the time of fighting against the French, united and fought bravely against the American imperialists. Di Linh built 4 concentrated guerrilla units and 1 local army unit, together with the army and people of the South to fight back against the sweeps of the US - puppets. With the "inside attack out - outside attack in" strategy, the army and people of Di Linh broke many attacks of the US - puppets, resolutely blocking the enemy from withdrawing from B'Lao to Di Linh to defend.

On March 28, 1975, the army and people of Di Linh coordinated with the main army units supporting the Di Linh front to quickly seize the opportunity to completely liberate Di Linh district, bringing peace to the people. During the resistance war against American imperialism, the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Di Linh district were awarded the Second Class Liberation Medal, Third Class Thanh Dong Medal by the State, 3 communes (Dinh Trang Thuong, Son Dien, Hoa Bac) and Di Linh district were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Immediately after the liberation day, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Di Linh district quickly started to restore the consequences of war, consolidate, build and develop the socio-economy, ensure national defense and security, and care for the material and spiritual life of the people. During the period of 1975 - 1985, the Party Committee and government of Di Linh district, in addition to leading, organizing, consolidating, building and developing the fields of politics , economy, culture, society, health, education, national defense and security, and building a strong political system, also focused on leading the people to fight against hostile forces, especially the reactionary organization Fulro.

Di Linh changes with the country

Since 1986, the Party Committee and the government of Di Linh district have led the innovation and comprehensive development of all aspects of life. The population of Di Linh at the time of liberation was only approximately 35,000 people, now it has increased to over 162,000 people. According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Di Linh district, the growth rate of the agricultural sector of Di Linh district is an average of more than 6% per year. In 2024, the value of agricultural products per hectare of cultivated land will reach more than 200 million VND. Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Di Linh district, said: In 2024, the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector in Di Linh district will reach 3.9%; the industry will reach 6.1%; the construction sector will reach 9.0% and the service sector will reach 13.0%. In 2024, the average income per capita of Di Linh district will reach 62 million VND/person, an increase of 1.44 times compared to 2020. The multidimensional poverty rate of Di Linh district is currently only 3.03%. In particular, the multidimensional poverty rate of ethnic minorities is 5.2%.

According to village elder K'Tieu (Dinh Lac commune, Di Linh district), 50 years after liberation, the face of ethnic minority areas has constantly changed, the lives of people here have been continuously improved, both materially and spiritually. The cultural identity of the K'Ho people has been preserved and developed by the Party Committee and government, associated with tourism development. The structure of crops and livestock in ethnic minority areas has shifted in the right direction, forming value chains, creating stability in all stages, from cultivation to production and consumption. Vice Chairman of Di Linh District People's Committee Vu Duc Nhuan added: The coffee productivity of Di Linh district currently reaches 36 - 40 quintals/ha. In addition, Di Linh has also developed intercropping fruit trees on 16,000 hectares. Di Linh currently has 45 products recognized as OCOP products with 3 stars or higher.

During the 50 years of construction and development, Tan Chau commune was awarded the title of “Heroic commune in the renovation period” by the State. In 2008, Di Linh was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal and the Second Class Labor Medal in 2013. These are solid foundations for Di Linh to transform strongly in the era of national transformation.
