A colorful series of events
The Hung Kings Commemoration Day holiday, followed by the April 30th - May 1st celebrations, marks the official start of Da Nang's summer tourism season, presenting a vibrant and colorful image with the strong message "Returning to the Origins". From mid-April onwards, the festive atmosphere permeates the city with a series of cultural and artistic activities organized simultaneously in various venues.
At Sun World Ba Na Hills (Ba Na commune), the "Sun Festival" was launched on April 10th and will last until the end of August 2026. According to representatives from Sun World Ba Na Hills, during the "Sun Festival," the Sun World Ba Na Hills space will offer a series of diverse experiences, where visitors can explore interactive light art, immerse themselves in a vibrant festival atmosphere, and enjoy a rich culinary world . Each journey is a combination of entertainment, technology, and emotion, from spectacular shows to exciting recreational activities.
Also during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the "Light and Heritage Festival" will conclude at Hoi An Memory Island (Hoi An ward). The Hoi An Impression Park will become even more enchanting during this time with colorful art programs combined with the ritual of releasing sky lanterns and floating lanterns. Interspersed with these will be craft village workshops and shopping areas, making it a suitable destination for a wide range of visitors to experience.
Another highlight in the series of events is the Da Nang Ao Dai Festival 2026, taking place at APEC Park, the central streets, and Hoi An Ancient Town from April 24-26. At the festival, visitors will experience the "Da Nang Ao Dai - Past, Present, and Future" space to appreciate the beauty of this traditional garment through different periods. This will be accompanied by activities such as "Colors of Silk," fashion shows, Ao Dai parades, and interactive "check-in" activities.
Alongside these innovative events are traditional festivals rich in cultural identity, such as the Ky Yen Festival (Hoi An village, Son Cam Ha commune) or the "Huong Tra - Da Nang Rosewood Festival" (Huong Tra ward). Here, visitors can clearly feel the authentic beauty of the Quang Nam countryside by participating in folk rituals, playing Bài Chòi (a traditional Vietnamese card game), and enjoying local specialties such as banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), jackfruit salad, jackfruit salad, and lon bon salad.
Expanding "touchpoints"
While festival spaces bring a vibrant rhythm to the city, the sea and heritage sites offer a deeper experience, helping visitors find a balance between exploration and relaxation. The sea remains an attractive destination for visitors to recharge their energy during the hot summer days.
The series of activities marking the opening of Da Nang's beach tourism season will run from April 25th to May 3rd, featuring water sports demonstrations, swimming, walking in Son Tra, a kite festival (afternoon of May 2nd, in the Cua Dai beach area), evening music, culinary spaces, and various community programs, all interspersed to create a vibrant summer atmosphere.
Alongside the coastal areas, the journey to discover the pristine beauty of Da Nang continues to expand with a series of unique events spanning from islands and plains to mountainous regions. At Cu Lao Cham (Tan Hiep island commune), the Ancestor Worship Festival for the Swiftlet Farming Profession is both an opportunity to pay tribute to the traditional craft and a point of contact that helps tourists understand more about the cultural values associated with the livelihoods of people living on the islands.
Meanwhile, in Duy Xuyen commune, the festival commemorating the 555th anniversary of the Five Communes of Tra Kieu reveals the historical depth of the land, while the My Son area, with its "Colors of Cham Heritage" festival, takes visitors back to ancient cultural values.
The Non Nuoc stone carving village (Ngu Hanh Son ward) will also be bustling during this festival with the Ancestor Stone Carving Festival. The festival space combines experiential elements with craft demonstrations, allowing visitors not only to observe but also to directly participate in the creative process with stone. Further up the mountain, the Tra Linh market (Tra Linh commune) beckons visitors with its vibrant mountain culture, where agricultural products, medicinal herbs, and local cuisine vividly reflect the life of the Xo Dang people.
According to a representative from the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, the synchronized organization of activities from the city center to the outskirts, from the beach to heritage sites, from traditional to modern, demonstrates Da Nang's efforts to restructure its tourism products towards expanding experiential spaces and connecting them into a seamless journey.
With this approach, Da Nang aims not only to attract tourists in the short term but also to build an image of a destination with depth, where every trip leaves a lasting impression. From vibrant festival spaces and lively beach life to the profound cultural values in heritage areas, everything converges to create an exciting and captivating holiday season to entice tourists to Da Nang.
