The "safe haven" for the people during Typhoon No. 13

In response to the province's request to activate the highest level of response plan for Typhoon No. 13 (Kalmaegi) and complete important and urgent tasks, especially the evacuation of people before 10:00 AM on November 6th, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command of Gia Lai, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard has called 1,877 vessels with more than 13,000 fishermen to safe anchorage; arranged 4,200 boats at fishing ports; and pulled 15 aquaculture cages and 116 small vessels, mainly basket boats, ashore.

They assisted in relocating 265 households with 822 people in areas at risk of landslides and flooding; helped people reinforce 430 houses; and disseminated information on storm prevention and control measures to over 3,100 people. These "green stars" went from street to street, knocking on every door to help people prepare for and cope with Typhoon Kalmaegi, becoming a safe "pillar" for the people.
