Police in Thanh Thuy ward arrested three suspects in the theft of yellow apricot blossom trees worth 50 million VND.

In mid-July, while monitoring security camera footage in the area, the Huong Tra Ward Police discovered a group of 36 young men carrying weapons, riding motorcycles recklessly, and shouting on the road. Immediately, the ward police quickly deployed forces and coordinated with other professional units to apprehend them, preventing the incident from escalating.

Due to a conflict between two groups of young people, Nguyen Bao Hung (residing in Huong An ward) gathered a group of 36 friends (aged 17-19) on 18 motorcycles, carrying various weapons such as knives, homemade swords, wooden sticks, and beer bottles, and traveled along the roads to find the group of young people in Huong Tra ward to fight.

Through verification work, the Huong Tra Ward Police determined that in the ward, a number of young people were neglecting their studies, associating with bad friends, participating in activities that disrupted public order, and violating traffic laws. Therefore, the Huong Tra Ward Police Command directed the local police officers to monitor these cases, coordinate with local security forces and families to encourage, deter, and educate them , and implement management measures for these individuals.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang The Anh, Head of Huong Tra Ward Police, said: "Identifying prevention as the most important task, the unit has conducted questioning, deterrence, and legal education for individuals involved in criminal and drug-related activities in the area."

As an area with many busy traffic routes and a concentration of administrative agencies, markets, and businesses, immediately after implementing the 2C Local Police model, the Huong Tra Ward Police assigned tasks to each officer and soldier in charge of specific routes and areas to closely monitor the locality; thereby, focusing on detecting and promptly handling violations, affirming their core role in ensuring security and order in the locality.

Stay in the area

Not only in Huong Tra, but immediately after the 2C Local Police model came into operation on July 1st, the police in communes and wards throughout the city demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, focusing on handling prominent cases and citizen complaints to ensure security and order in the locality.

In Phu Xuan ward, the ward police force has continuously arrested many individuals involved in property theft in the area. Notably, Do Duy Nhan (born in 1981, residing in Thuan Hoa ward) has two previous convictions for "property theft".

Following information provided by residents about a suspicious individual suspected of theft, the Phu Xuan Ward Police quickly investigated and developed a plan to apprehend the suspect. Shortly afterward, Do Duy Nhan was caught red-handed while stealing a backpack parked in front of a resident's motorbike on Dang Thai Than Street.

Also in July, the Thanh Thuy Ward Police coordinated investigations to clarify and arrest suspects involved in the theft of Hue yellow apricot blossoms and many other property thefts that occurred in the area.

According to information from the Hue City Police, after nearly two months of operating the "Local Government 2C" model, the commune and ward-level police forces have consistently strived to ensure security and order at the grassroots level. They also serve as a bridge between the government and the people, acting as a reliable support in resolving administrative procedures and assisting with digital transformation. The initial achievements of the commune and ward-level police have demonstrated their ability to adapt quickly and readily collaborate with the "Local Government 2C" model during this period of national transformation.

This is also the spirit that Major General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Director of the Hue City Police, has been instilling since the beginning of July. Specifically, he requested that the heads and deputy heads of police at the ward and commune levels proactively grasp the local situation and any emerging or complex security and order issues to advise on handling them, while simultaneously promptly implementing measures to ensure the progress and targets of assigned tasks are met. Emphasis should be placed on advisory work to leverage the combined strength of the entire political system and society in crime prevention and control; closely combining social and professional prevention, limiting the causes and conditions that give rise to crime at the grassroots level; proactively deploying forces and ensuring the necessary conditions for providing public services; and carrying out tasks continuously without interruption.
