At the workshop, Ms. Dao Thuy Ha, General Director of Traphaco Joint Stock Company, stated that the development of medicinal plants primarily involves building a supply chain and value chain, based on the "four stakeholders" model: the state creating policy frameworks and planning; businesses acting as the coordinating core; scientists transferring seeds, processes, and standards; and farmers as the main producers, organized, trained, and guaranteed output of raw materials that comply with standard processes. This will develop medicinal plants into industrial products with high scientific content. Simultaneously, it is necessary to organize a product ecosystem based on the same source of medicinal plants to expand the market, increase the value of use, increase consumer access, create a more stable output for growing regions, and develop the medicinal plant economy , instead of treating medicinal plants as mere raw materials with low value.

The Ministry of Health is implementing a program to support the development of valuable medicinal plant cultivation areas, focusing on 23 medicinal plants, as part of the National Target Program for the period 2026-2035.
