This is a social welfare policy with profound humanitarian significance, contributing proactively to protecting and improving public health.
On the first day of implementation, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province Huynh Minh Tuan inspected the work being carried out at Cao Lanh 1 Regional Health Center and Tinh Thoi Kindergarten.
Following the inspection, provincial leaders highly appreciated the proactive approach of the Health sector in preparing human resources, medicines, and equipment, creating favorable conditions for people to receive health check-ups.
According to the plan, Dong Thap strives to ensure that 100% of eligible individuals receive benefits under Government Decree No. 165/2026/ND-CP.
Priority groups include war veterans, people with disabilities, poor households, near-poor households, people aged 60 and over, people living in particularly difficult economic areas, laborers, and all preschool and primary school students in the province.

To ensure effectiveness, the examinations are organized flexibly according to each target group. Specifically, residents and workers will undergo examinations at qualified medical facilities, while students and young children will be examined directly at their schools by medical staff. All examination procedures strictly adhere to the professional guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
The program has received a great deal of positive feedback and enthusiasm from the local people. Many elderly people emotionally shared that this policy not only helps them alleviate the financial burden but also provides opportunities for early screening and detection of diseases for timely treatment.
During the monitoring session, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province Huynh Minh Tuan emphasized that the program is a strategic step to improve the quality of the population and reduce the burden of disease for the people.
He noted that the health sector needs to maintain a spirit of dedicated and attentive service; pay attention to the elderly and vulnerable groups, and aim to build a modern, sustainable healthcare system that is people-centered.
