On April 24th, Star News Korea reported that veteran actor Lee Nam Hee passed away at 5 PM on April 22nd due to underlying health conditions, at the age of 64. This information was confirmed by his family.

Born in 1962, Lee Nam Hee made his debut in 1983 with the play Antigone and became a familiar face in the theater world. Throughout his career spanning over 40 years, he has participated in many classic theatrical works such as Death of a Salesman, Hamlet, Kafka on the Shore, John, and many others.

In particular, in the Seoul City Theatre Company's 2024 production of John , he played the lead role of John Gabriel Borkman, leaving a strong impression with his powerful performance.
Besides the stage, Lee Nam Hee has also participated in film and television projects such as The Priests, Steel Rain 2: Summit, Six Flying Dragons, etc. Although active in many fields, theater remains the focus of his career.
In an interview with DongA Ilbo in 2008, he shared: "Because I mainly work on stage, I haven't been able to gain widespread public recognition through films or television."

For his contributions to the arts, Lee Nam Hee has received numerous awards, including the Best Actor Award from the Korean Theatre Association (1998), the Acting Award from the same association (2000), the Best Actor Award at the 4th Korea Theater Awards (2011), and the Acting Award at the 48th Dong-A Theater Awards (2012).
According to his family, even while battling illness, he was still preparing for new theatrical projects. The late actor's funeral is scheduled for April 24th.
