2025 can be considered a "bumper year" for Lan Thy. At the beginning of the year, she appeared in the online horror-drama mini-series " The Devil's Restaurant " (directed by Ham Tran). At the end of March, she reunited with audiences through the film "Yin Yang Road" (Hoang Tuan Cuong). Her connection with horror films continues with her participation in "The Haunted House" (Truong Dung), scheduled for release later this year. Although details haven't been revealed yet, this new role promises to bring a fresh, distinctive style compared to what the actress born in 1998 has shown on the big screen before. In "The Haunted House ," she has the opportunity to collaborate with Quang Tuan, Van Trang, Huynh Dong, Hoang Kim Ngoc, Lam Thanh Nha, and artist Thanh Hang…
Lan Thy once shared that horror is the genre she's most hesitant about because it's difficult and demands a lot of acting skills. When participating in "Yin Yang Road ," she carefully considered her options before agreeing to director Hoang Tuan Cuong's invitation, who had previously persuaded her for his projects. She confided: "In previous projects, I wasn't confident in my acting abilities and feared I couldn't fully embody the role." Lan Thy also admitted that when she accepted the role, she had to overcome her own prejudices and find a way to convey the character as completely as possible.
Despite her attractive appearance and high regard for acting potential, Lan Thy chose a rather cautious path. Her first foray into film was with the role of "Bich Diem," the muse in "Em and Trinh " (Phan Gia Nhat Linh), and she immediately captivated audiences with her distinctly Asian beauty – outwardly gentle but inwardly unconventional and strong-willed. Following that, she played a supporting role in "Cong Tu Bac Lieu" (Ly Minh Thang). Lan Thy shared that she doesn't overthink or calculate when accepting projects, but simply chooses roles that resonate with her. Most of the roles she has played have distinct appearances, styles, and personalities. "From the first time I read the script, I have to feel connected to the character, have enough emotion and the urge to tell their story," she explained.
Before venturing into acting, Lan Thy was a medical student. Introverted and passionate about medicine, she chose this field to pursue. However, art opened up opportunities for her to explore the world , meet many people, and conquer new challenges. “Although still shy, those were my first steps – as a curious girl. Art has changed me a lot, even though I'm still an introvert. I just hope to have more opportunities to learn, experience, interact, and improve myself in acting,” Lan Thy expressed.
