According to People , Tyler Mane recently posted a video on Instagram, sharing an update on his health. The actor called it "bad news," revealing that he has an extremely rare form of breast cancer.
“Yes, I have breast cancer. And yes, it’s extremely rare. Only 1 in 755 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and I’m one of them,” Tyler Mane said.

The actor admitted that his initial reaction was to keep his illness a secret because he felt embarrassed. However, after doing some research, he realized that men are often diagnosed at a later stage because male breast cancer is less discussed and less frequently screened for.
Tyler Mane said that doctors initially overlooked the signs of the disease. He was only diagnosed early thanks to his wife's insistence on having the tumor removed. "It was only because my wife pushed me to get the tumor removed that I discovered the disease early," he shared.
Tyler Mane has now begun his first round of chemotherapy. In a video posted from the hospital, the actor appears during treatment, whispering a statement that shows a strong attitude towards cancer.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation , male breast cancer is rare, accounting for less than 1% of all breast cancer diagnoses in the United States. This rate is vastly different from that of women, where one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
After learning about these statistics, Tyler Mane said he wanted to contribute to changing perceptions about the disease. The actor encouraged men to be more open about breast cancer and to pay attention to early detection.
"If detected early, the disease is highly treatable. It's time to heed the warning bells," Tyler Mane wrote in the post's caption.

I am truly grateful. I will do it. I will beat cancer. Thank you all for being with me on this journey. We need to spread awareness. Cancer is terrible, but if detected early enough, you can win this battle,” he shared.
