According to information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the top scorer in the C00 subject combination is Nguyen Thanh Binh, born in 2006, a former student of Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted in Dak Lak province. The male student achieved 9.25 points in Literature, 9.5 points in History, and 10 points in Geography, for a total of 28.75/30 points.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, more than 443,000 candidates nationwide took the Geography exam, but only 56 scored 10 points, including Thanh Bình.
Meanwhile, the top scorer in the D07 subject combination is Pham Duc Minh, born in 2007, a former student of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted in Hanoi. The male student achieved 10 points in Mathematics, 9.75 points in Chemistry and English, for a total score of 29.5/30.
Besides the two top-scoring candidates who are independent candidates, this year's 2026 high school graduation exam also has 10 top-scoring students in various subject combinations. These students are all 12th-grade students from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, and Dak Lak provinces and cities.
The 2026 high school graduation exam will take place from June 10-12 with over 1.2 million candidates. Candidates will take two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature. In addition, they can choose two subjects from the following groups: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Languages (English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean).
After receiving their exam results, from July 1st to 5th, candidates who wish to appeal can submit their appeal applications at the place where they registered for the exam. Within 15 days from the deadline for receiving appeal applications, the examination board will announce and notify the candidates of the appeal results.
By July 3rd at the latest, candidates will be considered for high school graduation. Before July 7th, they will be issued a temporary graduation certificate and a certificate of exam results. The final decision on high school graduation after the appeal process will be made before July 23rd.
Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements, have not had their results canceled due to disciplinary action, achieve more than 1 point in all subjects, and have a graduation score of 5 points or higher are recognized as having graduated from high school.
