On the morning of June 4, athlete Vo Huynh Anh Khoa won the first gold medal for the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation. Competing in the men's 6m freestyle swimming event in the S400 disabled class with 8 athletes from 6 countries, Vo Huynh Anh Khoa finished first with a record of 4 minutes 5 seconds 20, winning gold. Also in this content, athlete Dang Van Cong won bronze. Last year, swimmer Vo Huynh Anh Khoa was also the athlete who won the first gold medal for the Vietnam Disabled People's Sports Delegation in this content.
However, the most outstanding achievement in swimming in Vietnam belongs to Vi Thi Hang, in the women's 400m freestyle (injury class S7) when she won gold with a record of 6 minutes 57 seconds 95 and set a new ASEAN PARA Games record (nearly 2 minutes more than the old record of 9 minutes 34 seconds 94). Vi Thi Hang also won the women's 100m freestyle gold medal in the S7-S8 class. Last year, in Indonesia, Vi Thi Hang performed excellently, winning gold and breaking 3 congress records in the 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and women's 100m freestyle, so Vietnamese sports fans hope Hang will have more gold medals at this year's Games.
The Vietnamese swimming team yesterday won a total of 7 gold medals, of which, 4 golds belonged to Nguyen Van Hanh (men's 100m breaststroke class SB 11), Nguyen Thanh Trung (men's 50m backstroke class S4), Vo Thanh Tung (50m backstroke class S5), and the 4x100m freestyle relay (Vo Thanh Tung, Quach Van Vinh, Nguyen Ngoc Thiet, Vo Huynh Anh Khoa).

Le Van Cong succeeded in all 49 pushups with weights of 3kg, 162kg and 166kg to win the gold medal for the athlete with the highest weightlifting level (168kg), and the gold medal in the total achievement (168kg). Indonesian athlete Hadi also had three successful attempts at weights of 160kg, 163kg and 166kg, winning 2 silvers.
Le Van Cong of Vietnam is currently the Paralympic record holder with a record of 183kg, winning gold in Rio (Brazil) 2016. In women's weightlifting, runner Dang Thi Linh Phuong also won 2 gold medals with the highest weight in a single push of 95kg and a total of 279kg (91kg, 93kg and 95kg).
