According to the Soc Trang Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the unit has now received 9 requests to support the province's environmental cause to overcome environmental pollution in 7 districts and towns with a total budget of more than 17,3 ,2 billion dong. In which, Ke Sach district proposed to support to overcome the pollution of 2 drainage canals in Dai Hai commune, Ke Sach town; My Xuyen district proposed to carry out the work of dredging Ba Thuy and Cha Va canals in the area of My Xuyen town; My Tu district proposed to treat environmental pollution in the drainage ditches in the center of Long Hung commune and Huynh Huu Nghia town, and at the same time, unload, relocate and treat waste at the landfill in Huynh Huu Nghia town; Thanh Tri district proposed to build works to overcome wastewater pollution in the district, buy cars, collect and transport waste and relocate landfills in Phu Loc town, Hung Loi town; Chau Thanh district needs to support environmental pollution treatment at Thuan Hoa commune landfill; Nga Nam town proposes to repair the incinerator and landfill works in Tan Long commune; Cu Lao Dung district proposed to carry out the work to overcome environmental pollution at the landfill in An Thanh XNUMX commune.

On the basis of proposals and recommendations, Soc Trang Department of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with localities to organize actual surveys of polluted works. Thereby, assessing urgent projects that need to be handled soon are: the landfill in Chau Thanh district, Nga Nam town is now overloaded. The Department has urgently reviewed and sent documents to the Department of Finance for consideration and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for additional targeted budgets for these localities to overcome as proposed. The Department also suggested that in this August, districts and towns should send written proposals for projects to overcome environmental pollution, which are expected to be funded by 8.
Concluding at the meeting, Comrade Vuong Quoc Nam said that the treatment of environmental pollution is a necessary job, so it should be implemented soon. On the basis of survey and appraisal of polluting works that are pressing, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment must make a report to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration. Localities also need to be responsible for handling environmental pollution issues, actively mobilizing people to raise awareness of environmental protection; organizations and mass organizations must join hands in implementing activities on environmental sanitation and waste treatment.
