At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Science and Technology reported on the management of science and technology tasks from 2020 to present. Accordingly, the implementation of science and technology tasks has achieved positive results. In this phase, 46 tasks were deployed; in which, there are 6 tasks under the national science and technology program, 40 science and technology tasks at provincial level, with a total investment of more than 88,8 billion VND. Accordingly, the Council of Science and Technology specialized in consulting to determine the science and technology tasks to be implemented in 2024, there are 9 topics, projects and 1 topic to be submitted to the Council for consideration. List of 74 topics and projects proposed not to be implemented by 2024.
Through discussion and explanation of the members, the Council voted to agree on the results of achieving 4 scientific and technological tasks to be implemented by 2024, including: Building a model of soybean rotation on land with 2 rice crops. associated with product consumption links in Soc Trang province; creation, management and development of geographical indications Soc Trang for breast milk products of Soc Trang province; implementing the process of raising artemia at low salinity to adapt to climate change for the salt fields of Vinh Chau, Soc Trang province; study and assess the current status of clam fields and propose a plan for clam farming areas suitable for coastal waters of Cu Lao Dung district (Soc Trang).
