This year, the Thầy Pagoda Festival 2026 will be held over three days, from April 21st to April 23rd (corresponding to the 5th to 7th days of the third lunar month), promising to continue spreading the unique cultural values of the Thầy Pagoda National Special Monument.

According to the plan, the opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 PM on April 21st with many activities focusing on spiritual origins and commemorating the merits of Zen Master Tu Dao Hanh - a monk from the Ly Dynasty closely associated with the history and legends of the temple. A highlight of the Thầy Pagoda Festival is the harmonious combination of solemn and dignified ceremonies with rich and distinctive festivities. Traditional rituals such as incense offering, bathing rituals, procession of ancestral tablets, sacrificial ceremonies, and processions are organized systematically, demonstrating the reverence and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" of the local people. Processions in traditional costumes and brightly colored flags create a scene that is both ancient and vibrant amidst the Sai Son mountains.

In addition, the festival features many unique folk art activities. The stories of water puppetry – an art form associated with Zen Master Từ Đạo Hạnh – are vividly recreated on the lake in front of the temple, attracting a large audience. Furthermore, traditional folk games are organized, contributing to a vibrant and emotionally rich festival atmosphere.
