BPO - Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo identifies science and technology (S&T) development, innovation and national digital transformation as the top important breakthrough, the main driving force for the rapid development of modern production forces, perfecting production relations, innovating national governance methods, helping to improve labor productivity, promoting the country's development in the new era. In the context of globalization and the continuous development of S&T, supporting enterprises to apply modern technology and improve competitiveness is an important task, in which the need for S&T innovation of enterprises is a necessary first step.

Cashew nut manufacturing and processing companies and enterprises apply modern machines to improve productivity, reduce labor and increase profits.

In the 2021-2024 period, Binh Phuoc has implemented 76 science and technology tasks at all levels in many fields; effectively applied core technologies of the 4.0 industrial revolution, researched and created new plant varieties; effectively managed geographical indications, certification marks, collective marks, etc. The whole province had over 1.1 million successful transactions with a total of about 236,744 billion VND. In particular, the provincial agricultural product exchange has supported 99 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households with 390 products participating in the sale on the exchange. To date, the province has supported 5 pilot models of comprehensive digital transformation for enterprises and cooperatives, and the whole province has nearly 30 cooperatives applying digital transformation to production and business.

Promoting intellectual property activities

In the period of 2016-2024, Binh Phuoc province has 1 geographical indication, 1 certified trademark and 2 collective trademarks granted protection certificates, including: Binh Phuoc geographical indication for cashew products, certified trademark "Binh Phuoc Rubber", collective trademark "Thanh Luong free-range chicken" and "Thanh Luong cowhide pepper label". Special products recognized by the State according to intellectual property laws are opportunities to increase value and reach out to large markets.

In the trend of globalization and economic integration, technology is the decisive factor in the competitiveness of agencies and enterprises and is the premise for successfully implementing the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. Connecting technology supply and demand is an important solution to promote the connection between research and development activities and production, contributing to improving the level and capacity of technological innovation.

Currently, the number of registered units and certificates of industrial property rights protection in the province only ranks 46th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide; and 17th out of 19 provinces and cities in the Southern region. Company director Nguyen Van Linh said: The exclusive patent confirms the exclusive ownership of the invention of an individual or enterprise registered in accordance with the law. Products with exclusive patents help enterprises affirm their brands.

Digital transformation in business

Realizing the urgent need for digital transformation, enterprises in the province have actively applied the production management system (ERP); promoted online sales channels, promoted products on digital platforms; managed data and secured networks. In recent years, processing enterprises in the province have been aiming to automate production lines to improve efficiency and labor productivity.

With a modern closed system and high-tech machinery, the company has shortened production time, increased productivity and automated the cashew shelling process. In particular, the advantage of the equipment system is to help cashew processing enterprises increase profits and reduce costs in the production process.

Improve the quality of human resources

Currently, the issue of skilled human resources in the fields of engineering, automation and data management is one of the great needs to help businesses develop. Therefore, training in science and technology skills for local human resources needs to focus on skills in programming, operating automatic systems, data management and network security. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Center for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (IPTC), Ho Chi Minh City National University shared: Binh Phuoc needs to focus on forming brands and diversifying products from cashew nuts; building a closed process from planting, harvesting, post-harvest processing, introducing products associated with tourism and domestic and international distribution; digital transformation and innovation of production lines. In addition, promoting innovation, identifying intellectual property and innovating production technology; building an electricity security strategy for production and business. At the same time, deploy digital transformation solutions for businesses such as: focusing on production management systems (ERP), e-commerce and data management. Thereby, helping businesses digitize operating processes, increase competitiveness and expand consumer markets. Develop automation technology and design advanced production lines in production and processing, to minimize labor costs, increase production efficiency, and meet export needs.
