Following the merger, the entire sector comprises 930 preschool and primary/secondary schools, 30 vocational and continuing education institutions, 1 university branch, and 1 university. The sector currently manages over 425,000 students and trainees, and more than 34,000 administrators, teachers, and staff. 100% of administrators, teachers, and staff in the education sector possess professional qualifications and have received appropriate training and development for their current positions.
The Department of Education and Training regularly monitors and proactively supports and guides commune-level authorities in handling, resolving, and overcoming difficulties and obstacles arising in the operation of the two-tiered local government model in the field of education. The Department has established a working group to support the implementation of state management tasks in education by commune-level People's Committees.

The education sector continues to promote decentralization, delegation of authority, and increased autonomy in educational institutions. School management is gradually shifting from a management mindset to a modern management approach, focusing on quality and efficiency. Educational institutions are proactive in adjusting teaching content and selecting assessment methods in line with the development of students' competencies.
The sector continues to improve the overall quality of education at all levels. The quality of preschool education continues to improve. Children are ensured safety at school, and the rate of half-day schooling remains high; the application of technology in management and the implementation of advanced educational methods are increasingly expanding. The quality of primary education is fundamentally stable, showing a trend towards substantial and sustainable development, creating an important foundation for subsequent levels of education. The implementation of IT education and digital citizenship skills is tailored to the conditions of each unit, contributing to the effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program in the direction of integration and digital transformation.
In secondary education, the quality of advanced education continues to affirm its position. In the 2025-2026 school year, the entire province had 114 students winning national awards for academic excellence, including 1 first prize, 34 second prizes, 35 third prizes, and 44 consolation prizes. At the national science and technology research competition, 6 out of 7 participating projects won awards, including 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 3 fourth prizes.
Students in Quang Tri also achieved many outstanding results in digital technology , robotics, and scientific research. The quality of mass education has improved compared to the previous school year, with the high school graduation rate in 2025 reaching 98.89%, ranking 13th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide.
Dr. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province, said: “In the coming time, the sector will focus on perfecting the institutional framework and reforming the system's governance; developing the teaching staff and management personnel; investing in infrastructure and implementing key projects; improving the quality of comprehensive and equitable education; promoting science, technology and digital transformation; mobilizing social resources and developing non-public education; promoting the building of school culture and international cooperation; developing vocational and higher education associated with supplying high-quality human resources. We believe that with the close attention and guidance of the provincial leadership, the support of departments and agencies, and the determination of the staff, teachers, employees, parents and students, the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training will achieve the set goals.”
After nearly a year of operating under new conditions, the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training has gradually stabilized its organizational structure, maintained the quality of teaching and learning, and created positive changes in management and educational innovation. These achievements are an important foundation for the department to continue innovating and improving the overall quality of education, meeting the requirements for developing high-quality human resources, and contributing to the sustainable development of the province in the new phase.
