Responding to World Environment Day (5-6); In the month of Environmental Action in 2023, localities have launched the program "Exchanging recyclable waste for gifts". This is a good program, meaningful and attracts many people to participate.

As noted by PV, in the program "Exchange recyclable waste for gifts" organized by the People's Committee of Dinh Hoa Ward (Thu Dau Mot City), many people brought recyclable waste bags to use again to exchange for gifts including daily necessities. On the launch day, the Organizing Committee collected 670 bottles and cans of all kinds, 275 classified ads, 45kg of paper.
According to Mr. Pham Hung Son, Chairman of Dinh Hoa Ward People's Committee, the above activity is aimed at calling on households in the area, especially business establishments, to join hands with the locality in environmental protection by doing daily tasks, such as: Disposing of garbage on time and in the right place; participate in daily cleaning in front of the house; do not dump solid waste into the manhole; do not discharge wastewater into the environment without treatment, equip trash cans at business establishments and classify solid waste at source...
“This is also an activity to further promote communication activities on environmental protection, raise awareness and change community behavior about carrying out environmental protection activities in the residential community, with the motto because Dinh Hoa ward has no waste,” said Mr. Pham Hung Son.
Meanwhile, at this program, organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lai Thieu Ward (Thuan An City) in collaboration with the Women's Union, Youth Union, Red Cross and other organizations, on the first day, more than 200 gifts were exchanged with a total budget of 4 million VND. Through the program, 1.302 beer cans, soft drink cans, plastic bottles, 62kg of waste paper, old books and magazines of all kinds were collected.
The program aims to raise public awareness about "Building a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle"; harmful effects of plastic waste, limit the use of difficult-to-decompose nylon bags and switch to reusable bags. Since then, changing the habit of using plastic products, classifying waste, putting garbage in the right place, contributing to reducing environmental pollution, protecting human health, gradually building Lai Thieu ward into a civilized ward and a sustainable urban area.
