The first round of the second half of the V.League 2025/26 season was incredibly exciting, with surprising results in both halves of the standings, creating a very unpredictable situation for the upcoming matches.
The highlight of V.League Round 14 was the Hanoi derby between The Cong Viettel and Hanoi FC. Having a deep understanding of each other's playing styles, the two teams played extremely tightly, and the outcome was decided very closely, with Huu Thang's single goal helping The Cong Viettel climb to second place.
This match was officiated by two Thai referees, Songkran Bunmeekiart and Mongkolchai Pechsri. Although there were tense moments, such as the yellow card for coach Velizar Popov and the direct red card for Daniel Passira, the match was generally fair and balanced, and the VAR system did not need to intervene at all.

Meanwhile, in another highly anticipated match of round 14, Nam Dinh Green Steel and Ninh Binh produced a spectacular and exciting goal chase.
The home team at Thien Truong Stadium, having just replaced their head coach, faced an unexpected surprise when Ninh Binh took a 2-0 lead in the first half. However, at the most difficult moment, the resilience of the reigning champions was demonstrated. Akolo scored to reduce the deficit to 1-2 at the end of the first half, and in the middle of the second half, Xuan Son ended his goal drought with an equalizer to make it 2-2. Kevin Pham Ba completed the incredible comeback for Nam Dinh with the winning goal at the end of the second half.
While this victory hasn't yet brought Nam Dinh Green Steel back into the title race, it's enough to improve their position in the standings. Ninh Binh, on the other hand, has shown that they have many problems to solve after their third consecutive defeat in the V.League, and have now lost their second place position to The Cong.

In some other notable matches, although not a clash between two teams in the championship race, but rather between only one team leading the league table, the match between Hanoi Police and Hoang Anh Gia Lai was still incredibly intense and exciting. This was also a match where the Hang Day Stadium welcomed a massive crowd of nearly 10,000 fans, almost filling both tiers of Stand A and similarly filling the first tier of Stand B.
Despite being the away team and not being ranked very high in the league table, Hoang Anh Gia Lai unexpectedly took the lead in the middle of the first half, even though they were under pressure from Hanoi Police almost immediately after the opening whistle. It wasn't until the middle of the second half that the home team's worries were eased when the players brought on as substitutes by coach Polking successively shone.
First, defender Minh Phuc scored the equalizer, making it 1-1 for the home team, and shortly after, striker China Alves scored a brace to help coach Polking's team secure 3 points after a hard-fought but extremely deserved comeback.
This victory helps Hanoi Police solidify their top position in the standings with 35 points, 7 points more than second-placed The Cong, but with one game in hand.
Meanwhile, in the lower half of the table, the relegation battle took a turn when SHB Da Nang successfully capitalized on their home advantage to defeat PVF-CAND 3-0, thereby narrowing the points gap with their rivals to just 1 point (but with one game in hand), opening up hope of escaping the last place in the upcoming rounds.

The tense developments at both ends of the table show that the landscape of the V.League 2025/26 season remains highly unpredictable, and any scenario could unfold in the relatively long remaining period of the second half of this season.
