Spreading new vitality

Entering 2026 with a mix of opportunities and challenges, the workers' movement and trade union activities in Dong Thap province have started with a new spirit: proactive, flexible, and strongly focused on the grassroots.

From the very first months of the year, a series of practical activities were implemented, not only to take care of the lives of workers but also to contribute to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND

One of the highlights of the first quarter was the activities to prepare for the Lunar New Year (Tet) in 2026. With the motto "All union members and workers should have a Tet holiday," trade unions at all levels in the province implemented a comprehensive range of solutions, from direct support to organizing cultural and spiritual activities.

Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and leaders of the Provincial Federation of Labor presented gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances at the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program in 2026.

Over 315,000 union members and workers have received support with a total budget exceeding 91 billion VND - a figure that not only demonstrates the scale but also clearly reflects the profound concern of the trade union organization.

From heartfelt Tet gifts and bus tickets home to the community, to donated "Community Shelters," everything carries a message of sharing and companionship.

The festive atmosphere of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) was also "awakened" in industrial zones through the program "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party," where workers not only received gifts but also participated in cultural activities and lucky draws, creating warm and bonding moments.

Besides caring for their well-being, the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers continues to be clearly affirmed.

During the quarter, trade union branches at all levels actively coordinated with relevant agencies to inspect and monitor the implementation of labor laws in enterprises.

In particular, following collective work stoppages at several businesses, trade unions quickly intervened, coordinating dialogue and negotiation to resolve issues. As a result, workers agreed to return to work, contributing to maintaining stability in production and business operations.

Beyond simply addressing situations, the trade union also focuses on "early prevention" through improving the quality of regular dialogue, collective bargaining, legal consultation, etc. Through these efforts, it gradually builds a transparent and fair working environment.

INNOVATING IN PROPAGANDA

In the context of digital transformation, the communication work of trade union organizations has also seen many noteworthy innovations. No longer limited to traditional methods, communication content has been widely disseminated through social media, infographics, short videos , etc.

The Party's major guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and trade union activities are conveyed vividly and easily accessible, especially to young workers.

Simultaneously, the system of 91 self-managed worker dormitories continues to be effective, becoming an "extended arm" in disseminating legal information, maintaining security and order, and building a cultural life for workers.

The patriotic emulation movement among workers, civil servants, and laborers continues to be promoted with many practical contents. The theme of the 2026 emulation campaign emphasizes innovation, digital transformation, and improving productivity and efficiency.

From factories and enterprises to agencies and units, the spirit of emulation has spread widely, arousing creativity in every worker. Many initiatives and technical improvements have been applied, contributing to increased production and business efficiency and work quality.

The work of developing union membership and establishing grassroots trade unions continues to be emphasized. In the first quarter, the entire province gained more than 3,500 new union members and established 5 new grassroots trade unions.

Simultaneously, attention is also paid to nurturing and recommending outstanding union members to the Party, contributing to building a high-quality human resource pool for the political system.

Entering the second quarter, the trade union branches at all levels in Dong Thap province have determined to continue innovating the content and methods of their activities, focusing strongly on the grassroots level, and placing union members and workers at the center.

Key activities such as Workers' Month and Occupational Safety and Health Action Month will be organized with many new highlights, linked to the actual needs of workers.

At the same time, efforts to develop union membership, improve the quality of grassroots trade union activities, and care for the lives of workers continue to be promoted, aiming to build an increasingly strong trade union organization.
