The Vietnamese national team desperately needs the support of its fans.

" Iraq is a very strong opponent, and this is a crucial match for the Vietnamese national team. The VFF and the players understand this. Coach Troussier will devise the best strategy for the Vietnamese team to overcome this challenge ," VFF General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi told VTC News.

Coach Troussier stated that he has summoned 80 players for four training camps to establish his desired playing style. The French coach emphasized that the Vietnamese national team has many players who have achieved glory, such as winning the AFF Cup, the SEA Games, finishing as runners-up in the U23 Asian Championship, and reaching the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup. All of them have had good achievements in the past, but surpassing that level is not easy.

The match between the Vietnamese national team and the Iraqi national team is of great importance.

Recently, many young players have been called up to refresh the squad and supplement senior players like Quang Hai, Hoang Duc, and Que Ngoc Hai. The friendly matches over the past few months are expected to help these young players gain more experience, preparing them to play in major tournaments when needed.

According to VFF leaders, the Vietnamese national team is making the most thorough preparations for the match against the Philippines. The players are continuously training on artificial turf – matching the playing conditions in the Philippines.

" We hope to receive support from local fans and encourage them to buy tickets to support the team not only in this match but also in many upcoming matches. The Vietnamese national team desperately needs the encouragement of its fans ," said Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi.

Tickets for the match between the Vietnam national team and Iraq in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers will be priced in four categories: 200,000 VND, 300,000 VND, 450,000 VND, and 600,000 VND. The Vietnam Football Federation will sell tickets online starting November 7th.

The Vietnamese national team will face Iraq on November 21st at My Dinh Stadium. This is also the stadium where the Vietnamese national team will play all their home matches in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region.

Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi affirmed that ticket sales will continue to be implemented through various methods. The VFF plans to sell tickets directly at its headquarters as the match approaches. Government agencies and departments that submit requests to purchase tickets will be supported as quickly as possible to ensure their officials and employees can receive tickets to cheer on the Vietnamese national team.
