Worried about choosing a school that matches the score achieved in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam that has just been announced to set the right admission wishes to universities, many candidates and their families have calculated carefully. Tran Quynh Nga, grade 12A, Nho Quan B High School said: With a score of 28.9 points in the B00 exam, I set my first wish as the Faculty of General Medicine, Hanoi Medical University. In addition, I also set some wishes in the information technology block by admission based on the form of capacity assessment. With those two admission methods, I have more opportunities to pass the university entrance exam.
In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training will prescribe a list of 20 different admission methods for universities to use in enrollment. In order for candidates to make the right choice with their desired major at universities, the candidates' families will always accompany the candidates in the process of choosing the major and school that is suitable for their children's scores.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, Thanh Binh Ward (Ninh Binh City) said: My child scored 24.15 points in the D group (excluding priority points) and wishes to study economics. However, it is very difficult to choose a major and school, so my child and I reviewed the admission scores of a few years ago; at the same time, pay attention to the conditions and standards of the school you intend to choose. Then compare with the high school graduation exam results to have a suitable choice. The family and child should consider registering before July 30 to ensure careful selection.
According to a survey of a number of candidates and their families in the province, most of them are very cautious in finalizing their registration for admission on the University Admissions System of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Ms. Truong Thi Duong, Hamlet 5, Kim My Commune (Kim Son) said: My child got a fairly high score in block A00, however, to avoid the situation where high scores still fail the wishes, the family and the child make the most of the right to register their wishes. In addition, research and learn about the quota for admission methods, thereby avoiding only registering for majors that do not have many quotas for the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores.
According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates must use their personal accounts to register their admission wishes online on the system. During the registration process, candidates must follow the correct and complete registration procedures.
Dr. Duong Trong Luyen, Vice Principal of Hoa Lu University, said: In 2023, with the high school graduation exam scores not as high as in 2022, the number of candidates registering for admission is not too high (on the admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training, there are over 600,000 candidates registering for admission nationwide/more than 1 million candidates taking the high school graduation exam).
To ensure the training needs of candidates, according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates are not limited in the number of university admission wishes. This is considered a great opportunity to help candidates confidently pursue the career they love.
Candidates should choose a major first and then choose a school. To choose a major, candidates need to consider which major is suitable for their abilities and strengths. Candidates can ask for experience and advice from parents, relatives or experts in the fields they intend to apply for.
In addition, candidates only need to choose the basis for admission based on high school exam scores or high school transcripts, competency assessment test scores, and other data on the system corresponding to the field of study to ensure the rights of candidates.
"You should check the items that you use for admission, do not register too many wishes but only focus on 1-2 majors, then review and choose from all 3 groups of schools corresponding to 3 entrance score levels: higher than the candidate's ability; equivalent to the candidate's ability and lower than the candidate's ability".
Accordingly, the total number of wishes ranging from 3 to 5 wishes is appropriate. This direction will help candidates prevent risks, while not limiting their own opportunities. Candidates should pay attention to registering on the 1st Wish System with the schools they want to study. To ensure the rights of candidates, they should choose 2 bases for admission: high school exam scores and high school transcripts.
Along with that, candidates need to research information about enrollment costs at universities in the same field of study, and pay attention to local universities with cheaper training costs than those in Hanoi because they are autonomous, so training costs are relatively high.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Hoa Lu University was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training 246 quotas for teacher training pedagogical majors; non-pedagogical majors are recruited based on the training capacity of the training institution. The school recruits students for the main majors of Accounting, Business Administration, Tourism, and Information Technology, with 100 quotas for each major.
On the Ministry of Education and Training's registration system, up to now, the teacher training group has met its registration quota, while the non-pedagogical group is still relatively limited. Therefore, after the Ministry of Education and Training's enrollment regulations until July 30, the school will continue to enroll in the second round for non-pedagogical groups, creating the best conditions for candidates to study at university when needed.
With hundreds of universities nationwide, choosing the right university is not easy for candidates. However, with only 2 days left to register their wishes (until 5pm tomorrow, July 30), candidates need to carefully review, strengthen their confidence and affirm their certainty to make an early choice in this "sprint" time, and should not wait until the last minute to finalize the registration of admission wishes.
At the same time, candidates need to check to see if their registration information is correct, check their email, and if there are any problems, contact the admissions department of universities, high schools, and the Department of Education and Training for support.
After the registration of wishes ends on July 30, candidates should pay attention from July 31 to 5:00 p.m. on August 6 to pay university admission fees online. On August 22, universities will announce the list of successful candidates. By early September, universities can start the new school year and welcome new students.
