Leaders of Can Tho City Labor Federation visited the preferential sales booths at the "Workers' Market" organized by the Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones Union.

In response to Workers' Month and Month of Action for Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025, the Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones (KCX&CN) has just organized a "Workers' Market". The market took place for 5 days, with a scale of 11 booths selling essential products and services... at preferential prices of 30-70% or more compared to market prices to serve workers. In addition, the "Workers' Market" also has 2 zero-dong booths to give new clothes to workers in difficult circumstances. This meaningful activity attracted a large number of workers to visit and shop.

Choosing a suitable coat for her daughter at the 0 VND booth, Ms. Vo Thi Bich Chi, a worker in the production department of Pataya Vietnam Food Industry Company Limited, confided: “For many years, my family's economy has been very difficult. My husband has a serious illness and cannot do heavy work, and my two children had to drop out of school very early to help the family. The cost of my husband's treatment and living expenses are all on my shoulders. Realizing my difficult family situation, the Company's grassroots union supported and created conditions for me to participate in the "Workers' Market". Here, I received a gift of necessities, 1 million VND in cash and was able to choose new clothes at the 0 VND booth. I am very happy and find this program extremely meaningful for workers in difficult circumstances. I hope this program will be maintained in the following years."

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Kieu, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones, within the framework of the "Workers' Market", the Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones organized a series of practical activities, such as training on occupational safety and hygiene; cultural exchange; free haircuts; giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances... Thereby, contributing to caring for and helping workers feel secure in their work, accompanying enterprises to develop production and business.

The direct superior trade union at the grassroots level in the city also organized many practical programs and tasks to respond to Workers' Month, such as organizing meetings and dialogues to share information, grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; propagating and disseminating legaleducation to workers; inspecting and supervising the implementation of labor law policies, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and regimes and policies for workers at enterprises, along with exciting and vibrant cultural and sports activities... Notably, the Co Do District Labor Federation organized a sports festival for cadres, workers, civil servants and laborers, attracting more than 250 athletes from affiliated grassroots trade unions to participate. The Thoi Lai District Labor Federation has also just started construction of a Union Shelter for 5 union members with difficult housing circumstances in the area. Each house has an area of ​​40-70m2, supported by the Can Tho City Labor Federation with 50 million VND from the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund Branch in Can Tho; the rest was contributed by family and relatives. As one of the workers receiving support from the Community Shelter, Mr. Bui Van Thai, in Truong Tay Hamlet, Truong Thanh Commune, Thoi Lai District, confided: “My husband and I both work as security guards at Truong Thanh 1 Secondary School, raising 2 young children to go to school. The old house was degraded, but the family did not have the conditions to repair it. I am very happy and grateful for the support of the Thoi Lai District Labor Federation and the City Labor Federation”.

According to the leader of the Can Tho City Labor Confederation, in the Workers' Month of 2025, a series of meaningful activities were organized enthusiastically and widely by the City Labor Confederation and all levels of the Union. Notable activities include: "Red Union Day"; "Workers, civil servants, and laborers' sports festival"; honoring enterprises for exemplary workers and employees; presenting Union Shelters; awarding scholarships to children of union members and employees in difficult circumstances; visiting families of workers who suffered work-related accidents... In addition, the City Labor Confederation coordinated with relevant units and functional branches to strengthen inspection and examination of occupational safety and hygiene at enterprises; training and practical training in occupational safety skills for employees and employers; expanding dialogue, answering policies, removing difficulties and obstacles related to occupational safety and hygiene work...

With the goal of "Taking union members and employees as the target of activities", depending on actual conditions, the city's trade union at all levels is implementing many practical programs and tasks to care for union members and employees; accompanying enterprises to build harmonious and progressive labor relations. Thereby, contributing to encouraging the emulation spirit of the labor force in the city.
