Communicating about reading culture

(CT) - The Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Libraries, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has sent a document to the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities regarding the communication and promotion of books to celebrate key holidays and events in 2026.

The leaders of the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Libraries requested that the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism direct cultural institutions, agencies, and units under their jurisdiction to coordinate with provincial libraries to implement tasks aimed at developing reading culture in the community. For activities celebrating the 5th National Book and Reading Culture Day in 2026, they should develop organizational plans focusing on promoting the reading movement, spreading knowledge, and highlighting the beauty of Vietnamese culture and people… Organizing reading promotion activities; creating innovative, attractive, appropriate, and effective reading spaces, especially models such as “Digital Libraries” and “Smart Bookcases” to promote reading culture and support lifelong learning for the people.
