Closing Ceremony of the Traditional Culture Festival of Ethnic Minorities in Thanh Hoa Province

After two days of vibrant and culturally rich events, on the evening of May 20th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the People's Committee of Hoi Xuan commune, held the closing ceremony of the 2026 Thanh Hoa Province Traditional Culture Festival of Ethnic Minorities.

Held in Hoi Xuan commune from May 19-20, hundreds of artisans and amateur performers from mountainous communes across the province participated in many unique cultural and artistic activities, such as team competitions, traditional costume shows, introductions to community living spaces, performances of traditional folk art forms, and displays of food stalls and ethnic products.

This is the performance by the Dao Quan Chet people in the team competition.

Many performances and competitions left a strong impression on the audience thanks to their elaborate preparation and rich cultural identity of the Thai, Muong, and Dao ethnic groups. Rituals, festivals, and folk performance forms such as Thai chanting, gong and drum ensembles, bell dances, new rice harvest celebrations, and Xên bản - Xên mường rituals were vividly recreated, contributing to the dissemination of traditional cultural values ​​within the community.

The traditional cultural space became a meeting and exchange point for people of ethnic minorities in the mountainous regions at the festival.

In particular, cultural spaces and traditional stalls have become a highlight, attracting a large number of locals and tourists to experience the handicrafts, costumes, musical instruments, and distinctive cuisine of the ethnic minorities in the mountainous regions of Thanh Hoa province.

The Organizing Committee presented awards to units with outstanding achievements.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 3 first prizes, 7 second prizes, 11 third prizes, 32 consolation prizes, and 6 special prizes to the participating units.

On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province awarded Certificates of Commendation to 21 collectives for their outstanding achievements.
