This activity aims to build an image of Can Tho tourism as civilized, friendly, and safe, while also fostering awareness of tourism and cultural conduct among small traders at Cai Rang floating market, and strengthening environmental protection awareness campaigns.
The training course, attended by 50 participants including small traders and merchants, lasted two days, May 14th and 15th, at the meeting hall of the Cai Rang Ward People's Committee. The training covered topics such as: food safety and hygiene, environmental protection, traffic safety in inland waterway tourism transportation, fire prevention and rescue on rivers, communication skills, civilized tourism conduct, an introduction to the Code of Conduct for Civilized Tourism, and some aspects of responsible tourism.
Mr. Sam Long Giang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said: “The training course is one of the activities aimed at improving the quality of human resources in tourism, towards the goal of building Cai Rang Floating Market as a safe and friendly tourist destination, contributing to the preservation and development of Cai Rang Floating Market. In the future, to improve the quality of human resources in Can Tho tourism, the Department will also coordinate with training institutions and relevant sectors to organize more training courses with the common goal of improving the quality of the workforce in the tourism industry.”
