Supporting the people during floods.
Phu Ho commune was recently formed by merging Phu Luong, Phu Ho, and Phu Xuan communes (formerly belonging to Phu Vang district); in which, Phu Ho and Phu Luong (old) were both low-lying areas, often deeply flooded and slow-recovering during floods. Heavy rains in late October and early November caused severe and prolonged flooding in many villages of Phu Ho commune.
Despite the situation of deeply flooded roads, heavy rain, and strong currents in many sections, making travel extremely difficult, canoes and motorboats from the commune's front-line officials and member organizations, along with benefactors, traveled back and forth across the water to reach the people of Tay Ho, Le Xa, Vinh Luong Khe, Xuan O, and many other deeply flooded villages, providing timely relief with food and water to ensure that no one went hungry.
The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Ho commune recalled that for ten consecutive days and nights, most of the commune's Fatherland Front officials did not go home but were on duty at the headquarters, working together with the Party Committee and the commune government, standing side by side with the people.
These days, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Ho commune and its member organizations are once again working together to provide timely support to flood-affected people to overcome difficulties. As a result, more than 40 groups of benefactors from the city and other provinces and cities have come to the flood-stricken area of Phu Ho to provide thousands of gifts. Leaders of the Party Committee, the People's Committee of the commune, Fatherland Front officials, and member organizations have been working tirelessly to receive and deliver gifts directly to the homes of flood victims.
The core of propaganda and mobilization work.
Over the past period, to help local people, especially disadvantaged households, to have stable housing, confidence, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives, the commune's Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations have proactively and actively connected with and mobilized organizations, agencies, businesses, philanthropists, and the people to join hands in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. In the first five months of 2025, they mobilized 720 million VND to support the construction and repair of 36 houses. 52 cases received livelihood support (models of breeding cattle, raising pigs using biosafety methods, raising chickens, and mushroom cultivation), developing production and achieving sustainable poverty reduction, with a total amount of nearly 630 million VND.
Mr. Tran Mai, Mrs. Tran Thi Quyt (Le Xa village), and many other residents of Phu Ho commune expressed that, over the years, the Fatherland Front and organizations at all levels have connected with and mobilized benefactors to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the construction and repair of "Great Solidarity" houses, and the provision of "tools" to help disadvantaged households have a "foundation" to rise up. Especially during natural disasters and calamities, such as the recent consecutive major floods, this timely connection and support is invaluable.
The people of Phu Ho commune are also ready to respond to campaigns and uphold the tradition of "mutual support and compassion". For example, in response to the call to support, share, and help people in the northern provinces and cities overcome the consequences of typhoon No. 3, the people of Phu Ho commune have jointly donated nearly 400 million VND.
Mr. Tran Kim Nhan, Secretary of the Phu Ho Commune Party Committee, highly appreciated the pivotal role of the Fatherland Front in propaganda and mobilization work; thereby effectively gathering the strength of unity among all strata of the people, working together to build a more developed Phu Ho.
