Support People in Floods

The new Phu Ho commune was merged from Phu Luong, Phu Ho, and Phu Xuan communes (formerly belonging to Phu Vang district); in which, Phu Ho and Phu Luong (old) are both low-lying areas, often deeply flooded and slow to drain during floods. Heavy rains in late October and early November caused many villages in Phu Ho commune to be heavily flooded for long periods of time.

In the situation of deeply flooded roads, heavy rain, many sections of fast flowing water, making it very difficult to move, there were still canoes and motorboats of the commune front cadres and member organizations going up and down the water, along with benefactors coming to the people of Tay Ho, Le Xa, Vinh Luong Khe, Xuan O and many other deeply flooded villages, promptly providing food and drinking water, ensuring that people do not go hungry.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Ho commune recalled that for ten consecutive days and nights, most of the commune's front cadres did not return home but were on duty at the headquarters, joining forces with the Party Committee and commune government, standing side by side with the people.

These days, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Ho commune and its member organizations have been actively connecting to promptly support people in flooded areas to overcome difficulties. As a result, more than 40 groups of donors in the city and other provinces and cities have come to Phu Ho flood center to support thousands of gifts. The Party Committee leaders, the People's Committee of the commune, the front officials and member organizations work as a shuttle to welcome, receive and together with donors to overcome the flood, to deliver gifts to the homes of people affected by floods.

Core in propaganda and mobilization work

In recent times, in order for local people, especially poor households, to settle down, have confidence, overcome difficulties, and stabilize their lives, the communal front and socio- political organizations have proactively and actively connected and mobilized organizations, agencies, businesses, philanthropists and the people to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In the first 5 months of 2025, 720 million VND was mobilized to support the construction and repair of 36 houses. 52 cases have been supported for livelihoods (models of breeding cows, raising safe biological pigs, raising chickens, growing mushrooms), developing production, and reducing poverty sustainably, with a total amount of nearly 630 million VND.

Mr. Tran Mai, Mrs. Tran Thi Quyt (Le Xa village) and many people in Phu Ho commune confided that, in recent years, the Fatherland Front and organizations and unions at all levels have connected and mobilized donors to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses, the construction and repair of "Great Solidarity" houses, and the support of "fishing rods" so that poor households have a "fulcrum" to rise up. Especially in natural disasters and calamities, such as the recent consecutive large floods, timely connection and support are very valuable.

Phu Ho people are also ready to respond to campaigns and promote the tradition of "Mutual love and support". Typically, in response to the call for support, sharing and helping people in the northern provinces and cities overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, Phu Ho commune people joined hands to support nearly 400 million VND.

Mr. Tran Kim Nhan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Ho commune, highly appreciated the core role of the front in propaganda and mobilization work; thereby effectively gathering the strength of solidarity among all classes of people, joining hands to build Phu Ho to develop more and more.
