Many roads in Hamlet 6, Tho Binh Commune have been widened, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.
Just nearly a year ago, many roads in Hamlet 6 were still dirt roads, narrow and difficult to travel on. But now, the changes are easily noticeable as many roads have been widened and paved with concrete, making them neat, clean, and beautiful. This not only facilitates trade but also contributes to fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation among the people in implementing local campaigns and emulation movements.
Mr. Le Duy Ly, one of the pioneering households in the movement to donate land and expand roads in Hamlet 6, said: “After being informed and encouraged by the hamlet's Front Committee and other organizations, my family realized that expanding the road would bring many benefits to the community, so we voluntarily donated 450 square meters of land and dismantled our fence to expand the road from 3.5 meters to 7 meters. With the road widened, travel is more convenient, and the residential area looks more spacious, clean, and beautiful. Therefore, my family wants to contribute our small effort to the overall development of our homeland.”
Not only did Mr. Ly take the lead in donating land, but he and his family also actively encouraged relatives and villagers to agree to donate land for road expansion.
Mr. Le Huy Luan, Party branch secretary and head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hamlet 6, said: “Initially, some households were hesitant because they had to donate a large area of land with considerable economic value, not to mention the demolition of structures, which would significantly affect people's lives. However, with the motto 'going door to door, knocking on every door,' and 'slow and steady wins the race' in propaganda and mobilization work, the people have shown high consensus. In the past nearly 5 years, the people in the hamlet have donated over 7,000 square meters of land along with many structures and buildings to expand the road from 3 meters to 5 meters, and even up to 7.5 meters in some sections.”
Identifying transportation criteria as a key task contributing to breakthroughs in socio-economic development, Tho Binh commune continues to focus on implementing Directive No. 24-CT/TU of the Provincial Party Committee on the campaign to encourage people to donate land for investment in the renovation, upgrading, and beautification of infrastructure, with a focus on transportation roads in rural and urban areas of the province, in a synchronized and modern manner. To create consensus among the people, the commune has mobilized the entire political system to participate, with the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations playing a core role in propaganda and mobilization. The content of land donation and road expansion is disseminated through various forms such as Party branch meetings, people's meetings, the commune's public address system, and social media platforms.
Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tho Binh commune, Lo Van Tien, said: “Propaganda and mobilization work has always been identified as an important task to create consensus among the people. The Fatherland Front working committee and mass organizations in the villages regularly explain to people the practical benefits of donating land to expand rural roads. During the implementation process, the villages always focus on promoting the exemplary role of each official and Party member in carrying out the movement, thereby creating high consensus among the people.”
From February 2022 to the present, Tho Binh commune has mobilized 1,572 households to donate over 142,000 square meters of land, dismantle fences and many other permanent structures. Many households even voluntarily cut down crops that were ready for harvest and contributed thousands of man-days of labor to expand nearly 76.7 kilometers of rural roads, creating a new look for the residential area.
Not only have the improved transportation routes facilitated travel and socio-economic development in the locality, but the awareness of preserving the environment and building a civilized lifestyle among the people has also been increasingly enhanced.
The people's willingness to donate land and expand rural roads has contributed to changing the face of their homeland, making it increasingly more beautiful and creating a bright, green, clean, safe, and safe residential area. This movement has also further fostered a spirit of solidarity and community responsibility among the people in building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Tho Binh.
