This result is mainly due to the boom in the international tourist market, lower fuel prices compared to the same period last year, and the airline's flexible and efficient operational efforts.
Production and revenue growth
In the first quarter of 2025, the number of international passengers arriving in Vietnam reached approximately 11.7 million, an increase of 13.3% compared to the same period last year; the number of domestic passengers reached over 9 million, an increase of 3.6%. Of these, the country welcomed more than 6 million international tourists, setting a record high in the history of the tourism industry.

International market regions all recorded positive growth, with the Indian market experiencing the strongest increase at 26.6%, followed by the Middle East at 25.8%, and Northeast Asia at 13.6% thanks to the recovery of China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong (China).
The quality of international tourists has also improved significantly, particularly in high-revenue markets such as Japan, Australia, and India. High-revenue tourists from Japan have recovered to nearly 90% compared to the same period in 2019, instead of 60% in the previous year.
