In this new development space, Vinh Long is a land rich in cultural traditions, a place where the essence of the riverine landscape, the sea, traditional crafts, and the unique identities of various ethnic communities converge. This harmonious blend creates a distinctive character for the homeland, opening up vast opportunities for sustainable and culturally rich tourism development.

The province has great potential for developing ecotourism, particularly in the form of riverine and garden tourism.

A land of cultural and historical intersection.

Formed on the foundation of the convergence of three traditionally rich regions (Tra Vinh, Vinh Long , and Ben Tre), this is not only a change in geographical space, but also a unique blend of diverse cultural, historical, and human influences. This has created a distinct advantage and a unique identity that few other localities possess.

According to Mr. Tran Ba Sanh, Chairman of the Provincial Tourism Association, a new development space is a golden opportunity to restructure, enhance competitiveness, and position the province's tourism brand in the region and nationwide. Based on the strengths of each locality (Vinh Long - orchards, Tra Vinh - Khmer culture and the sea, Ben Tre - rivers and coconuts), the goal is to build distinctive, interconnected tourism products, creating a chain of experiences: "Rivers - orchards - the sea".

The province possesses significant potential for ecotourism, situated in the heart of the Mekong Delta, with an open space facing the East Sea, boasting 130km of coastline and the Co Chien River (approximately 82km long). This has resulted in a flat terrain, a tropical monsoon climate, and a dense network of rivers and canals, making it ideal for the strong development of ecotourism and riverine/garden tourism.

In terms of cultural tourism, the province is renowned as a land of "spiritual significance and outstanding people," with a glorious revolutionary tradition and many worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

Furthermore, the province is home to the long-standing coexistence of three main ethnic groups: Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa, who have created a unique culture with many traditional festivals, distinctive arts and culture, historical and cultural relics, and unique architectural works, most notably the architecture of 156 ancient Khmer temples, which have significant tourism potential.

Striving to make tourism a key economic sector.

In recent times, the province's tourism industry has strengthened linkages and cooperation in developing tourism products, connecting tourist routes and destinations between localities and businesses, contributing to building and diversifying the province's distinctive tourism products.

Mr. Dang Hieu Trung, General Director of Focus Travel Group, shared that after the merger, Vinh Long has a great advantage for tourism development. However, to perfect and maximize these tourism advantages, it is necessary to meet the requirements for infrastructure. With its geographical conditions, development potential, and the originality of its products and people, I believe that with the right approach and the right methods, Vinh Long will soon become one of the leading river tourism hubs not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia,” said Mr. Dang Hieu Trung.
