Assisting in the timely search for missing relatives.
Since the beginning of the year, the Phong Dien District Police and the police forces of the communes and towns have received nearly 10 thank-you letters from citizens, agencies, and units. Each letter tells a different story and recounts a different circumstance, but they all share a common sentiment of sincere gratitude and praise for the sense of responsibility shown by police officers and soldiers in carrying out their duties.
Recently, the Phong Dien District Police and the Phong An Commune Police received a letter of thanks from residents for their swift action in verifying and locating a lost child with signs of illness. On July 20th, the Phong Dien District Police received a report from residents about a lost boy in Thuong An village, Phong An commune. The district police dispatched officers to coordinate with the Phong An Commune Police to gather information. Upon learning that the child was unable to speak and did not know the way home, the Phong An Commune Police assigned officers to receive and verify the information and posted announcements on Zalo and Facebook groups. Through this, they contacted the child's family, who then came to pick him up and return him to their home in Phu Hau ward, Hue City.
The family stated that the child, named PVH (born in 2007), went missing from home at 8:00 PM on July 19th. The family requested assistance from authorities in the search, but unexpectedly, the child had wandered off on a bicycle to Phong An commune. On behalf of the family, the child's uncle wrote a letter of gratitude to the officers and soldiers of the Phong Dien District Police and the Phong An Commune Police for their high sense of responsibility; their care, assistance in contacting and supporting the family in caring for the child while waiting for family members to pick him up.
Similarly, on June 18th, the Phong Dien District Police helped a man suffering from depression who had wandered away from Dong Nai province to reunite with his family. Specifically, on the afternoon of June 18th, the man approached the Phong Dien District Police on duty seeking assistance. The Phong Dien District Police command then dispatched officers to transport Mr. D. to the Phong Dien Town Police Station for food and recovery. During the interaction, the officers at the Phong Dien Town Police Station learned that the man's name was HVD (born in 1979, residing in Dong Nai province). Subsequently, the Phong Dien District Police officers verified the information and contacted Mr. D.'s family to coordinate his return home. Mr. D.'s family then traveled from Dong Nai to Phong Dien Town to pick him up and take him back to his hometown.
Touched by the dedication and responsibility of the police force, Mr. D.'s wife wrote a letter of thanks to the officers and soldiers of Phong Dien Town Police and Phong Dien District Police for helping to contact the family and providing care while waiting for family members to pick them up.

Serving the People
In addition to actively helping people reunite with their families after finding missing relatives, the police force in Phong Dien district has also been actively assisting people in recovering lost property. A typical example occurred on the evening of June 9th. Mr. Nguyen Huu Phong (from Nghe An province) was traveling by bus from Phu Loc district to Nghe An province when he had to change buses in Phong Thu commune, Phong Dien district. After getting on another bus and traveling a short distance, he discovered his phone was missing and asked the driver to turn back, but was refused. He then got off the bus and walked back to search. It was around 11 PM, raining, and he couldn't remember where he had changed buses, so he walked for over 30 minutes without success. At that time, Lieutenant Colonel Le Viet Hoa, Head of Phong Thu Commune Police, and Lieutenant Colonel Ho Ngoc Anh (a police officer from the commune), who were on night patrol on National Highway 1A, spotted Mr. Phong and offered their assistance.
After hearing Phong's story, Lieutenant Colonel Hoa drove him back nearly 2km on his motorbike. After about 45 minutes of searching, the Chief of Police of Phong Thu commune found Phong's phone on National Highway 1A. In addition to helping Phong find his phone, Lieutenant Colonel Hoa also helped the young man catch a bus back to his hometown that night.
Following this action, Mr. Phong expressed his joy and gratitude by writing a thank-you letter to Lieutenant Colonel Le Viet Hoa and the Phong Thu Commune forces. "I am truly delighted to have found my phone; because my phone contains a lot of essential data...", the handwritten letter stated.
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Hong Quang, Head of Phong Dien District Police, shared: "The thank-you letters from the people to the police force show the outstanding results in the fight against crime and the maintenance of security and order at the grassroots level. This also demonstrates the awareness and responsibility of the people's police officers who always 'serve the people.' These letters are a source of encouragement and motivation for the police force to continue striving and dedicating themselves wholeheartedly according to the motto 'Doing one good deed for the people every day'."
