Dong Thap province grants sand mining permits for the construction of the Cao Lanh expressway.

Dong Thap province has approved the results of the environmental impact assessment report for the sand mining project on the Tien River section belonging to Tan Khanh Trung commune, Lap Vo district.

On January 14th, Mr. Ho Thanh Phuong, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Thap province, announced that the province had approved the results of the environmental impact assessment report for the sand mine serving the construction of the Cao Lan - An Huu expressway, component project 2, the section passing through the province.

Accordingly, the total water surface area of ​​the exploitation zone is 18.78 hectares. The project area is located in the Tien River, with the left bank in My Xuong commune, Cao Lanh district, and the right bank in Tan Khanh Trung commune, Lap Vo district.

The sand mine is divided into two areas: Area A with an area of ​​7.88 hectares and Area B with an area of ​​10.9 hectares, with an exploitable reserve of 300,000 m3 over a period of 10 months. This includes four months of mining and six months of environmental remediation and restoration before the mine is closed.

This sand mine was granted by Dong Thap province under a special mechanism, allowing the contractor to directly exploit it to serve the construction of component 2 of the Cao Lan - An Huu expressway project, the section passing through the province.

Component project 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway has a total length of approximately 11.43km. Of this, about 3.8km passes through Dong Thap province and more than 7.62km through Tien Giang province.
The project is invested in by the People's Committee of Tien Giang province. The project's starting point intersects with component project 1 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway at Km16 in My Hiep commune, Cao Lanh district (Dong Thap province).
The project's endpoint intersects with the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway project at kilometer marker 98+950, ​​approximately 1.8km from the An Thai Trung interchange, in An Thai Trung commune, Cai Be district (Tien Giang province).
