
General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested that the provincial armed forces regularly build confidence and determination among officers and soldiers; organize training, fostering, and improving the quality of the officer corps in all aspects; and focus on on-the-job training to enhance the professional skills and expertise of commanders and staff. The provincial armed forces should organize training for regular troops, reserve forces, militia, and conduct tactical exercises and defense zone exercises according to plan, closely aligned with the target, characteristics, tasks, and defense zone strategy of the local area.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong noted that the armed forces of Dong Thap province need to maintain and improve the quality of training regimes, conduct good inspection and supervision work, promptly correct shortcomings and weaknesses; promote the strength of mass organizations, effectively implement the "shock" emulation movement and the "determined to win" emulation movement, creating a vibrant atmosphere of training emulation in agencies and units.

At the training commencement ceremony, the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command launched a high-intensity emulation campaign to celebrate the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and to commemorate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth.
In 2026, the armed forces of Dong Thap province are determined to accelerate innovation and create breakthroughs in training in accordance with the resolutions of the Central Military Commission, the Party Committee of Military Region 9, and the Provincial Military Party Committee. With the motto "Basic - Practical - Solid," they will prioritize comprehensive and in-depth training, focusing on practical application; mastering existing weapons and technical equipment, and being ready to receive and utilize new equipment.

Furthermore, the provincial armed forces integrate military training with political education, establishing a regular and disciplined system; training is closely aligned with tasks, targets, locations, and actual combat plans. The provincial armed forces are intensifying night training and mobile training in all weather and terrain conditions, promoting physical fitness and sports activities; striving for 100% of trainees to pass inspections, with 75% or more achieving good or excellent results. In particular, for new recruits, 100% are required to know how to swim and ensure absolute safety.
On this occasion, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, along with members of the delegation and leaders of Dong Thap province, visited and offered incense and flowers at the National Special Monument - the Tomb of Deputy Scholar Nguyen Sinh Sac (Cao Lanh ward).
