Every year, Sa Dec flower village (Dong Thap province) attracts a large number of visitors, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). Therefore, the local authorities are paving the way and creating favorable conditions for tourism development.

Mr. Vo Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Project Management and Land Development Board of Sa Dec City ( Dong Thap province), the investor of the N7 road project, said that the project's starting point intersects with provincial road 848 and its end point connects in the middle with the existing flower road.

Sa Dec city (Dong Thap province) is opening a 24-meter-wide road to develop its century-old flower village.

The project involves the construction of a new Class III road in the plains, passing through several households and agricultural land in Tan Quy Dong ward and Tan Khanh Dong commune. Road N7 has a total length of approximately 1.2 km, with a roadbed width of 24 m, a road surface width of 12 m, and sidewalks on each side ranging from 4 m to 6 m wide.

The total investment for the project is nearly 200 billion VND, including land clearance costs, construction costs, consulting fees, and other expenses. Of this, the value of the construction contract is over 90 billion VND.

The construction investment items include: roadbed, road surface, sidewalks, Sa Nhien Bridge, Ong Thung Bridge, Muong Lo culvert, Cai Be canal culvert, Cao Thai Huong culvert, surface drainage system, public lighting system, trees, parking lot and entrance gate.

Once completed and put into use, the project will help the locality improve its infrastructure, meet the transportation needs of people in the area, and reduce traffic congestion, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).

The project also makes a significant contribution to upgrading the existing flower village road, aligning it with the plan to be a transportation route combined with a tourist attraction for visitors from near and far.

"From a social perspective, the road construction project will increase the attractiveness for investors and strongly stimulate the socio -economic growth of the locality," Mr. Tung added.

Mr. Vuong Dao Anh Tuan, a technical officer at Tuan Hien Co., Ltd. (the construction contractor), said that the construction unit has basically completed the assigned construction items.

Specifically, the longitudinal culverts are approximately 95% complete, 3 out of 3 box culverts have been finished, the Sa Nhien bridge has been completed, and the Ong Thung bridge is expected to have its girders installed before the Lunar New Year.

The contractor is still continuing to lay sand and compact the roadbed. At the same time, they are stockpiling stones at the construction site so that once the sandbed meets technical requirements, they can proceed with the next stages of work.

"The project commenced in early 2023, and to date, approximately 60% of the work has been completed. The project is expected to be finished and put into operation by the end of June 2025," Mr. Tuan said.
