In a Bloomberg Power On report, analyst Mark Gurman stated that the iPhone is in a historically transitional era, with plans to launch three completely new models in three consecutive years.

Specifically, according to reports, Apple will launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. Then, in 2027, Apple will unveil a completely new high-end iPhone version with a curved glass screen and an under-display camera.

Besides product upgrades, Apple is significantly changing its launch schedule for new phone models. Historically, iPhones have always launched in the fall to coincide with the major holiday shopping season.

However, this model is revealing its drawbacks: unbalanced revenue, pressure on the engineering team and supply chain, and culminating in the rushed launch of Apple Intelligence in 2024.

To address this, starting in 2026, Apple plans to split iPhone launches into two phases. As usual, the fall will still be the time for the launch of three high-end models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and especially the new foldable iPhone next year.

Meanwhile, about six months later, extending into the spring of 2027, Apple will launch the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and possibly an upgraded version of the iPhone Air.

Gurman revealed that this model is expected to continue in the coming years, meaning Apple will release 5-6 new models each year.

Beyond iPhones, this change also applies to software, with spring releases becoming increasingly important, such as the new Siri integration into iOS 26.4, expected to launch in 2026.
