Iran national team "appeals" to FIFA for help.
Captain Mehdi Taremi revealed that the entire Iranian team was forced to leave the United States just minutes after their opening group stage match against New Zealand.
In the match in Los Angeles, Iran fell behind twice but fought bravely to earn a valuable point.
However, instead of staying in Los Angeles to recover before returning to their base in Tijuana, Mexico, the entire team was forced to leave the city overnight at the request of authorities without any clear explanation.

“It’s a really difficult situation for us. We were planning to stay overnight to recover, then train the next morning before returning to Tijuana, but everything was suddenly turned upside down. This is not good at all for our preparation for the next match,” Taremi said, not hiding his frustration.
The captain of the West Asian team said that FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the dressing room to meet with the Iranian players after the match ended. Taremi spoke with the FIFA head about the difficulties the team was facing and received a commitment that FIFA would provide support.
"The players and the team staff are all under a lot of stress due to problems arising outside of football, and I think FIFA needs to provide more practical support for us," Taremi said.
