Located in Bo Y commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province (now Quang Ngai), this place is considered an important trade bridge connecting the buying and selling of goods between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. In addition, visitors can experience shopping and enjoy the culinary culture of neighboring countries.

The symbol: "One rooster's crow, heard in all three countries."

The most striking feature that evokes a sense of nostalgia in anyone who visits is the unique location of "One rooster's crow, heard in all three countries." This is not only a metaphorical way of describing the unique geographical location of the westernmost part of Vietnam – where the mountain peak is a common point between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia – but also symbolizes cultural exchange, strong neighborly ties, and the peacefulness of the border region.

Ms. Tran Kim Lien, a visitor from Quang Nam, shared: “I had heard a lot about the Indochina Tripoint, but standing here feels truly special. With just one step, I can touch all three countries; it feels both strange and proud.”

A bustling atmosphere in the border region.

During this holiday, the tranquil atmosphere of the border region is replaced by a bustling and joyful atmosphere. Lines of people follow each other as they climb the steps leading to the summit of Mount Bo Y, hoping to touch the sacred border marker once more.

Besides sightseeing and taking photos, many tourists also enjoy renting traditional costumes from other countries to capture memorable moments. The vibrant dresses and outfits stand out against the green backdrop of the mountains and forests, creating a truly unique experience. Souvenir stalls are also busier than ever with souvenirs such as keychains, bracelets, clothing, and sweets.

A guide to a fulfilling travel experience.

To make your exploration of the Bo Y International Border Gate and the Indochina Tripoint worthwhile, visitors can keep the following tips in mind:

Directions: From Kon Tum city, follow National Highway 14E for about 80km northwest to Ngoc Hoi town, then continue for another 20km to Bo Y International Border Gate. This route has been well-developed and winds through lush green forests, making it ideal for those who enjoy experiential travel .

Visiting procedure: Upon arrival at the border guard station, simply present your citizen identification card to complete the declaration process. You will receive attentive guidance from the border guards stationed there.

Enjoyment: Tourists should not miss the local specialties such as bamboo-cooked rice, grilled chicken, or the unique sweets and drinks from Laos and Cambodia sold in the border area.

Accommodation: If you wish to stay overnight, you should choose a hotel or guesthouse in Ngoc Hoi town (about 20km from the border gate) for full amenities and the most comfortable experience.

Note: Due to the hilly and steep terrain, visitors should bring hats, shoes, and comfortable clothing to easily conquer the stairs leading to the tri-border marker.
