In order to increase the experience for tourists, Quang Ninh constantly innovates tourism products in a more unique and attractive direction, in which golf tourism is focused on and developed by the province.

Golf tourism is identified by Quang Ninh as one of the types of tourism that attracts high-end customers with high spending ability when coming to Quang Ninh. Therefore, the province always focuses on developing golf courses according to the general planning of the province and localities, associated with promoting the exploitation of potential domestic and foreign tourist markets.

Quang Ninh currently owns 4 international-class golf courses including: FLC Golf Course and Tuan Chau Golf Course (Ha Long City), Vinh Thuan Golf Course (Mong Cai City), Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course (Dong Trieu City). According to Decision No. 80/QD-TTg, dated February 11, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning of Quang Ninh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Quang Ninh is planned to have 22 golf courses distributed in many localities such as Ha Long, Uong Bi, Van Don, Mong Cai, Tien Yen, Binh Lieu...

Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course has just been put into operation, enhancing the experience for visitors.

Quang Ninh has identified investing in golf course construction as one of the solutions to promote the development of tourism and high-end services in the province, helping to diversify products, enhance experiences and tourism competitiveness. With a terrain characteristic of more than 80% of the area being mountainous and more than 6,000km of sea surface, especially the beautiful natural landscape, Quang Ninh has the advantage to develop golf courses.

To develop golf and golf tourism, Quang Ninh is calling for investment in 8 golf course projects with a scale of 2,200 hectares, total investment capital of more than 13,000 billion VND, including: Cam Pha Golf Course (Quang Hanh Ward, Cam Pha City), Ha Loan Island Golf Course (Cong Hoa Ward, Cam Pha City), Tien Yen Golf Course (Dong Xa Commune, Tien Yen District), Cai Chien Golf Course (Cai Chien Island Commune, Hai Ha District), Binh Lieu Golf Course (Binh Lieu District), Phuong Dong Golf Course (Yen Trung Lake Tourist Area, Uong Bi City), Bac Son Golf Course (Bac Son Ward, Uong Bi City), An Bien Golf Course (Son Duong Commune, Ha Long City). Of which, the largest project is Ha Loan Island Golf Course in Cong Hoa Ward, Cam Pha City with an area of 951 hectares. These are all golf courses in the investment attraction list of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2025-2030.

In order for Quang Ninh to become one of the golf tourism centers in the North, attracting domestic and international tourists all year round, Quang Ninh requires departments, branches, sectors, and localities to base on the planning orientation of the province, branches, and localities... to strictly manage the current status and land use process in areas planned for golf course investment; focus on promptly removing difficulties and obstacles for investors in the process of completing legal procedures for compensation for site clearance, land leveling... as well as developing accompanying types of services, trade, resorts... to form a diverse service tourism chain, supporting the maximum promotion of the value of golf course investment projects.

Unlike traditional tourism, golf tourists often come and return many times, using golf course services, hotels, high-class restaurants... Therefore, Quang Ninh province is currently developing the existing golf course system, along with promoting investment attraction for golf course projects according to the plan, striving to have 22 golf courses distributed in many localities in the province by 2050... Quang Ninh aims to form a system of international standard golf courses, creating a driving force to promote the development of golf tourism - a type of tourism targeting high-end customers with high spending ability and long-term stay, thereby making Quang Ninh one of the major golf tourism centers in the North, contributing to the development of the province's tourism industry.
