With diverse experiences ranging from beach and island tourism to spiritual and cultural sites, from rural areas to border regions, along with synchronized and modern tourism and transportation infrastructure, and numerous recreational activities and events, Quang Ninh is a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourists. To enhance the visitor experience, Quang Ninh continuously innovates its tourism products to be more unique and attractive, with golf tourism being a focus of the province's development.

Golf tourism in Quang Ninh has been identified as one of the types of tourism that attracts high-end tourists with high spending power. Therefore, the province is always focusing its efforts on developing golf courses according to the general planning of the province and localities, while also promoting the exploitation of potential domestic and international tourist markets.

Currently, Quang Ninh boasts four world-class golf courses: FLC Golf Course and Tuan Chau Golf Course (Ha Long City), Vinh Thuan Golf Course (Mong Cai City), and Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf Course (Dong Trieu City). According to Decision No. 80/QD-TTg dated February 11, 2023, of the Prime Minister approving the Quang Ninh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Quang Ninh is planned to have 22 golf courses distributed across various localities such as Ha Long, Uong Bi, Van Don, Mong Cai, Tien Yen, and Binh Lieu.

The Silk Path Dong Trieu golf course has recently opened, enhancing the experience for visitors.

Quang Ninh province has identified the investment in golf course construction as one of the solutions to promote the development of high-end tourism and services, helping to diversify products, enhance experiences, and increase tourism competitiveness. With its geographical features including over 80% mountainous terrain and more than 6,000 km of coastline, and especially its beautiful natural landscapes, Quang Ninh has a strong advantage in developing golf courses.

To develop golf and golf tourism, Quang Ninh province is inviting investment in 8 golf course projects with a total area of ​​2,200 hectares and a total investment of over 13,000 billion VND, including: Cam Pha Golf Course (Quang Hanh Ward, Cam Pha City), Ha Loan Island Golf Course (Cong Hoa Ward, Cam Pha City), Tien Yen Golf Course (Dong Xa Commune, Tien Yen District), Cai Chien Golf Course (Cai Chien Island Commune, Hai Ha District), Binh Lieu Golf Course (Binh Lieu District), Phuong Dong Golf Course (Yen Trung Lake Tourist Area, Uong Bi City), Bac Son Golf Course (Bac Son Ward, Uong Bi City), and An Bien Golf Course (Son Duong Commune, Ha Long City). The largest project is the Ha Loan Island Golf Course in Cong Hoa Ward, Cam Pha City, with an area of ​​951 hectares. These golf courses are all included in Quang Ninh province's investment attraction plan for the 2025-2030 period.

To make Quang Ninh one of the leading golf tourism centers in the North, attracting domestic and international tourists year-round, Quang Ninh requires its departments, agencies, and localities to strictly manage the current status and land use in areas planned for golf course investment based on the province's, sector's, and local planning orientations; to promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles for investors in completing legal procedures for compensation, land clearance, and leveling; and to develop supporting services, commerce, and resorts, forming a diverse tourism and service chain to maximize the value of golf course investment projects.

Unlike traditional tourism, golf tourists often visit and return multiple times, utilizing high-end golf course, hotel, and restaurant services. Therefore, Quang Ninh province is currently developing its existing golf course system and simultaneously promoting investment in golf course projects according to the plan, striving to have 22 golf courses distributed across various localities in the province by 2050. Quang Ninh aims to establish a system of international standard golf courses, creating momentum to promote the development of golf tourism – a type of tourism targeting high-end tourists with high spending power and long stays. This will make Quang Ninh one of the major golf tourism centers in the North, contributing to the overall development of the province's tourism industry.
