Locals and tourists enthusiastically captured moments amidst the vibrant yellow canola flower fields in Van Chan.

Standing on the mountaintop, gazing out at the vast expanse of sky gilded with rapeseed flowers, Ms. Nguyen Hoai Thu, a tourist from Hanoi, emotionally shared: “I have visited many places in our country, but Van Chan has a unique beauty, both vibrant and peaceful, strangely poetic. Standing amidst this space overflowing with flowers, I clearly feel the spring atmosphere spreading, a feeling of relief, peace, and full of energy. The people here are simple and friendly, and the scenery is beautiful. I think anyone who comes here will fall in love and want to return.”

Like Ms. Thu, many tourists visiting Van Chan in the early spring are amazed by the mountainous landscape and the magnificent natural scenery. The gentle spring sunshine, golden like poured honey, flows throughout the space, filtering through the leaves, awakening the young shoots and shy blossoms. In this scene, peach blossoms, plum blossoms, and rapeseed flowers—all species that have long been associated with the lives of the Mong people on the mountain slopes—bloom in vibrant colors. However, recently, as part of the local economic and tourism development plan, these flowers have been planned and planted on a large scale, creating a dazzling picture that brings a lively rhythm and warmth to the spring in the highlands.

As spring arrives, the highland region of Van Chan is ablaze with the vibrant yellow of mustard flowers.

Besides the sprawling flower fields, visiting Van Chan in spring also offers tourists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the lush green landscape of ancient Shan Tuyet tea hills on the summit of Suoi Giang. At an altitude of over 1,300 meters above sea level, Suoi Giang peak is blessed with pristine, unspoiled natural beauty and a fresh, cool atmosphere year-round. Every morning, as the first rays of sunlight pierce through the low-lying clouds on the mountain slopes, the Mong ethnic girls begin their work in the verdant, ancient tea trees. Their nimble hands quickly pick the young tea buds still glistening with morning dew, creating a rhythmic labor that blends humanity and nature in the pure atmosphere of the mountains and forests. Perhaps it is thanks to the dew-soaked leaves before harvesting and then processing them using the time-honored traditional methods of the Mong people that the Shan Tuyet tea from Suoi Giang has a distinct and superior flavor compared to teas from other places.

Nestled amidst the vibrant blossoms of spring and the lush green of ancient tea hills, Van Chan emerges with a harmonious beauty, both fresh and serene, full of poetic charm. This is precisely the allure that draws more and more tourists to this place for relaxation, experiences, and exploration of the cultural and ecological identity of a region undergoing rapid transformation with the dynamic pace of tourism .

In 2025, tourism in Van Chan commune achieved many positive results. The total number of visitors reached over 143,400, and revenue from tourism activities reached 129 billion VND.

In 2026, Van Chan commune aims to maintain its growth momentum, striving to welcome over 150,000 visitors and achieve tourism revenue of 135 billion VND.

With a focus on sustainable tourism development, linked to the preservation of cultural identity and the effective exploitation of natural potential, Van Chan expects tourism to continue to be an important driving force for the local socio-economic development.

Tourists participate in the experience of picking tea leaves from ancient Shan Tuyet trees in Suoi Giang.

Sharing his experience after directly participating in a tea-picking and tea-tasting session amidst the misty mountains of Suoi Giang, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang, a tourist from Ha Tinh province, said: “Hand-picking each bud of ancient Shan Tuyet tea, then participating with the locals in the traditional tea processing, learning about the steps to produce a complete batch of tea, and sipping a hot cup of tea in the misty mountain setting is truly a very special experience. The tea here has a very different taste; it's not harsh but has a sweet aftertaste, becoming more delicious and captivating with each sip. I clearly feel the essence of nature and the hard work of the people embedded in each cup of tea.”

Strolling amidst the vibrant colors of spring, wandering through dazzling flower forests, or traversing the misty haze over ancient Shan snow tea hills, visitors slow down to listen to the breath of the mountains and forests and embrace a new life spreading throughout. Each step is like touching the pristine beauty of nature. In this expansive space, spring is present in both the scenery and the emotions that linger in the heart, leaving anyone who has visited once with a lasting memory of a bustling and warm Van Chan.
