
According to forecasts from the Department of Industry and Trade, consumer purchasing power during the end of 2025 and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is expected to increase by 10-15% compared to normal levels; prices of essential goods are likely to increase by 5-10%. Based on these forecasts and the actual market situation, the Department of Industry and Trade has reviewed and requested production units to increase capacity to ensure sufficient supply; businesses and distributors are urged to proactively develop plans for importing and stockpiling essential consumer goods; and to ensure smooth operation of supply, circulation, and distribution of goods.
As one of the major retailers in the province, the WinMart+ convenience store chain has proactively developed a business plan for the year-end season and increased its inventory. Mr. Do Minh Vu, Manager of the WinMart+ system in Lang Son, stated: "Currently, we have 14 convenience stores in the province. To ensure sufficient supply for the peak season, starting in October 2025, we worked with major suppliers to compile a list and finalize the production quantities of key items. Accordingly, we have now stockpiled goods worth over 4 billion VND (a 50% increase compared to normal months of the year) with 2,000 items, ranging from dry goods and processed foods to fresh produce." In the coming period, the number of customers visiting WinMart+ is expected to increase by approximately 25% compared to normal days. Therefore, we will continue to allocate goods and balance the availability of items at our stores according to consumer demand and population density in each area, thereby ensuring sufficient quantity and variety of goods to meet consumer needs.
The Department of Industry and Trade estimates the quantity of essential goods needed to meet people's needs, including: approximately 9,300 tons of various types of rice; about 470 tons of cakes, jams, and candies; about 11,000 tons of fresh meat (pork, buffalo, beef, fish, chicken, duck, etc.); and about 12,000 tons of vegetables and fruits. To date, the amount of goods prepared by businesses and distributors in the province has reached about 70-80% of people's consumption needs. |
Not only retail businesses, but also large consumer goods distribution companies in the province such as Thien Phu Construction and Trading Co., Ltd., Hoang Nguyen Trading Joint Stock Company, etc., have implemented plans to stockpile goods. Mr. Tran The Kien, Director of Thien Phu Construction and Trading Co., Ltd., Tam Thanh ward, said: "From the end of October 2025, the company reviewed, compiled statistics, and finalized orders with approximately 2,000 agents and retail outlets in the company's distribution network in communes and wards throughout the province. At the same time, the company has proactively developed a plan to stockpile goods with a total value of over 10 billion VND (a 25% increase compared to normal months of the year) to ensure a sufficient supply of essential goods for distribution to agents. Furthermore, to better serve the needs of the people during peak periods, we are committed to selling goods at stable prices and implementing promotional programs according to brand names."

Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, stated: "Through monitoring, the supply and prices of goods on the market have remained basically stable. To ensure market stability during the peak period from now until the end of the year, the department continues to direct its specialized departments to proactively grasp the market situation to advise the Provincial People's Committee on timely implementation of market stabilization solutions; requesting businesses and distributors to proactively ensure the supply of goods, stabilize prices, and organize transportation to deliver goods to remote areas to serve the people. At the same time, the department directs the Market Management Sub-department to strengthen market inspection and control, resolutely handling cases of deliberate hoarding, illegal price increases, or violations of other regulations on commercial activities, thereby protecting consumer rights and creating a healthy business environment."
The proactive efforts of all levels of government, sectors, and the business community have contributed to stabilizing the market and ensuring the supply and demand of goods during the end of 2025 and the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026.
